Question about Gateway (8008625) Cooling Fan, Heatsink With Fan
We have a Gateway laptop Mod # SA1 (M Series?).
Lately it's been auto-shutting-down on it's own..
The fan seems to work in "pulses", I.e. the fan noise
rises and falls almost as if it's struggling to breath!
Never had a laptop fan do this.
I think it's shutting down because the CPU's overheating.
Is the fan going bad?
Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
IF you trust yourself, take apart the laptop and apply a thin coat of thermal paste to the processor, and put it abck together. This should help.
