2001 Aurora - Full power, lights, Radio, Dash. No Clicking noise of any kind. Insert key, and nothing. Will not start, nothing attempting to turn over.,

I have a 01 olds aurora and it wont start. I hear a clicking noise and there is power to the dash board and the radio will come on but the car wont start

I have a 2001 Aurora 4.0 with the same intermittent problem. After several tries it will start. I don't know for sure, but I suspect this is an ignition switch problem. The issue could also be an intermittent connection on the starter solenoid, but since it happens infrequently it would be very difficult to catch it in this condition to test.

Are you sure that the key you are using is not the valet key, or a copy of the transponder key? If you haven't used that particular key, and are unsure if it is a 'transponder' key it's possible that is why you have full power buy no start.

Otherwise, good luck.

What is the clicking noise when I turn my key the car won't start but all the lights go on

Not sure of the kind or source of the clicking you're hearing, but it's either the relay that passes power to the starter or the starter itself.

My 2002 chrysler sebring 2.4L will not start turn key and hear no clicking noise nothing at all, lights and horn work , when i jumped the battery it did nothing no clicking. what should i try next?

Check if you have power at the starter from the ignition key
Try give direct power to the starter, if still not starts, you have a bad starter

Everything is dead

Hi eyansdaddy,
Sounds like a bad connection on the battery , check the earth cable on the battery and the one that earths the engine to the bodywork (at the bottom of the engine) if there worn or frayed it can stop the engine from starting. all the best Scott

2001 aurora won't start at all. Hook batery up horn horn sounds and doesn't stop head lights stay on but nothing happens when the key is inthe ingition. No clicking or anything at all. alarm on...

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

I have a 2001 olds aurora, wont start. Doesnt click or nothing, tried jump starting it dont do nothing. Battery is only 2 years old.

when you turn key on is there power to lights radio dash ? if yes check the starter relay and solenoid you can check easily using a test light find a good ground and a test light that works test light on battery first at the starter there will two wires one thick and will lead to battery the other wire is thin this is the wire you want to test have someone turn key to start while you test for power at wire if there is power at the wire replace starter the solenoid is deffective if there is no power at the starter sol wire then check starter relay

hope this helps leave me a comment and vote this was helpful any more questions reply

Turn key dash lights come on but no start or any kind of starting noise ,no starter noise or clicking nothing but all the dash lights

Sounds like stuck starter moter solenoid. Get a mate to tap the solenoid (smaller cylinder attached to the starter motor side) with a hammer, quite hard, while you repeatedly turn the start key on & off. If no joy (and this is needed anyway) have starter removed and reconditioned.

Will not start

i suspect a faulty starter check for voltage output at the starter solenoid with a multimeter. or (shade tree) tap the starter with a hammer then attempt to start. if the vehicle starts after the tapping replace starter.
