This is our number one issue with gas fryers... Not being able to get the unit lite.... Normally our service techs tell our customers they are not holding down the pilot light button long enough. The sensors in there take some time to get hot enough to send a signal to the pilot telling it to light... If you need someone to walk you through it, call Ray at 888-542-5959, at Restaurant Equipment Outlet.
Hi there. Before having someone to repair tank leak, try to contact first the distributor or much better the manufacturer of the equipment and verify if the unit's tank is still covered by their warranty policy. Fryer tanks as far as I know has much longer warranty period, some manufacturer extend the warranty of their tank up to 10 years, but this is of course under normal use. Leak on tank can be welded, just make sure that the one who will be doing the welding job is an expert and authorized on that field, otherwise, leak will not be sealed properly and accidents could occur. Regards.
You need to change the gas valve, burner orfices, pilot and maybe a gas regulator.I service these fryers often as im a hobart tech.Goto hobartcorp.com,type in your model and the parts list.Any ? let me know.
Set the thermostat to 350 degrees, get a thermometer and put it in the oil, when the unit shuts off look at the temp of the oil.If the temp of the oil is higher then the thermostat is bad if not the hi-limit may be.Let me know.
What parts did you replace to do the conversion? Make sure all your wire connections are correct (hi-limit/thermostat/thermocouple connections).I repair these fryers if you need more advise let me know.
