Re: bluetooth location on acer laptop
Bluetooth other than the device itself is software, the "bluetooth dongle" gets plugged into a port via the usb, So I am thinking you need to plug it in to the computer. If it is a new machine if may be internal, that would be under programs, start programs, if no bluetooth it must be installed the software and hardware, good luck

Activate the Bluetooth features of your Acer Aspire to unlock your laptop's wireless function.
Bluetooth technology allows your computer to control and share data with external devices without having to use a connection cable or download drivers. In order to establish the connection with other enabled devices, you must first enable the Bluetooth antenna so other devices can locate your computer.
Press the "Bluetooth" button found just above the keyboard. The LED above the button should illuminate. Click "Start," "Control Panel" and "Add a Device." Your Acer scans for other Bluetooth devices in the area. Click the name of the device in the window that appears, and click "Next" to establish a connection with the external device.
Probably your laptop dosen't have bluetooth hardware in it. Confirm it by following process Right click on My computer and click Manage then click on device manager on left panel A list will appear which shows the hardware content of your laptop. If the list dosen't contain bluetooth device then it is confirmed that your laptop dosent have bluetooth hardware. Try using external USB bluetooth device for your laptop. Cost couple of dollars.
It's a little touch light that looks like a satellite
dish, located just above your Num Lock key. Make sure it's set to
Wireless Lan enabled (should flash on the screen when you press it). If
it lights up, problem solved.
When I click the bluetooth button on my Ascer Aspire 5740 laptop (wondows 7) it says "No Device" does anybody know how I can get the bluetooth set up on my computer so I can transfer pictures to my phone and suc
Try using external USB HUB (POWERED) Adapter. It might fix this issue. Use an other USB cable and see. If the problem still exist do not plug in the printer again, you may damage your USB port or even burn your laptop motherboard. hope this helped
The Acer Aspire 4730 models DO NOT include any bluetooth hardware. The button is there because it shares much of its setup and hardware with the 4930 models which do have bluetooth. So, as the machine tells you, there is no bluetooth device to turn on and off. Check the specs from Acer's website and you will see no mention of bluetooth. You will need to add a bluetooth device. The simplest would be one that plugs into your USB port. Other than that little issue, the 4730 is a very nice notebook for the price.
Does the acer 5600awlmi have a bluetooth device installed?
Do you have a switch at the front to switch bluetooth on/off?
Check by opening back were the harddrive is also located.
If no card with 4 wires on white 8-pin socket is installed, you don't have a bluetooth device.
Also check the connector!
However it is possible to put one in yourself.
I have a 5601awlmi and mine has no bluetooth device installed.
On e-bay you can buy an bluetooth card for approx. €20 in germany.
On the back side open the casing were the harddrive is located.
There you see a 8-pin white socket.
Connect the card to the socket and boot.
Next install the bluetooth drivers from acer website if neccessary.
I hope this answers your question.
