Question about Sony CDX-MP40 CD Player

1 Answer

My tracks don't play in the recorded order, list I made them.....

My MP40 always worked fine, I now have a prob. When I create a cd the songs don't follow on the cd player the way my created list was made. The list when created in not the way they play on the MP40. Sometimes they repeat also and the repeat is not on. I seem to think maybe I done something with the disc - or + buttons or the album + or -buttons.
Please do help !!!!!!
Thanks in advance

I have a problem..... My cd's play not from a random order. I make them in the file / track I like and when I play them they play in a different order. Like they are playing from disc #ers, or album #ers.I only play one at a time.

I like to make and follow the file I create , this I have no repeats, and a space between artists. With it working this way it plays whatever it wants, and known to repeat.

I think I touched a button of some sort.

My sony won't ply the CD'S as I filed / created them. It seems to play as dicc #ers or album #ers. I don't know. The deck is not on shuffel, repeat nor any of that, I believe I pressed something ???? Maybe something with the read button, or the BTM button . I would really like for my sterieo to play as I recorded the tracks.

    Thanks, much.........

I plays at random, sometimes repeating etc. I'm not in repeat nor shuffel mode. I think I hit something in the disc - or + or in the album + or - .....not sure. If song tracks jump or skip then it is problem of cd player like optical laser is dirty / clogged,
and if track doesn't jump or restarts in middle of playing back then cd player is just fine,
Please check cd creator software settings.

Some players are picky with certain cdrw/dvdrw discs. You might have to experiment with different brands/types for your discs. I used to have a cd player (teac) which would just refuse certain brands cd-r discs but play others just fine. I know it sounds odd, but once I noticed which ones work and which ones don't I never looked back.
Also, have the "problematic" discs been recorded on just one recorder? Have you tried playing discs recorded on a different recorder?
Also - I'm sure you've already tried it-it's always a good idea to clean the laser just in case.
Hope this helps+
Good luck,

I just bought a used car with this deck installed, and put in a mix CD, and it works great until it reaches the 9th track then it just searches forever and never finds the track. Any idea on where to...

If this CD was created from a PC burn, I would try checking for any differences between it and the rest of the files. As a matter of fact, I would chaeck all files past song 9, just to be sure. If there is no variation in the file extension, it could be the bit rate of the recording, or multiple other things. See if they all play on your PC as well. That's about the best first stpe to find out what might be corrupted on the CD.

When playing a burned mp3cd all I get is noise

It is the way it is burned. On the program you are using, it is set for all songs on one track, not sure about the noise. I recommend using windows media player 11. Go to media player, select burn, create list. Then drag all the songs from library to the burn list on right side, and hit burn. That's all there is to it.

''Pioneer DEH 1900MP 2 second gap between songs on CD''

that isn't the radio doing this...all recorders insert this 2sec gap as the default setting.  Some recorders you can adjust this.  All store bought CDs have this too.

WMA/MP3 Playback will not work

This may be a problem with the internal software within the pioneer device. Try burning your music using the wav extension. these files are larger than the mp3 but, this should play well. you may need to try an updated version of the burning software you are using as well. this could be the problem.

MP3 files start skipping/popping after few minutes of playback

Sony say in the manual that if you record high bit-rate mp3's the sound may be intermittent. I feel this is due to the decoder having to move ALOT of bits around to play, try some makeing a disk with mixed rate mp3's on. e.g.) some 64Kbps, some 128, some 192, and some as high as you can get and see if there is any differ Luck
