I have had banding where black bold toner should be, if I print a black square it will have bands in it and be very light. I replaced toner, still the same, other colours are fine. The printer is 6 months old, and not used excessively. It looks like lack of toner all the time! Help!!!!

    same problem
    solution doesn't work

  • sambo123 Jan 22, 2009

I have had the same problem twice now. The first time my printer was in warranty and Samsung actually repaced the internals of the printer (you press in one of the buttons and the printing mechanism comes out).

Now its happened again and the printer is no longer in warranty, I have also tried a new toner to no aval. However Solution #1 has greatly improved the print quality I'm getting for now atleast!

I have purchased all new toners and the black still prints very faint. I've emptied my waste tank, and removed, shook, and re-installed each toner color...still having the same problem. Please advise.

Black print uneven, like dirty printer head.

I too have the light printing on the left side. I will try the cart shake and check the 'click' on reinsertion.

I'd like to have the document from slamfix on self-repair, since I consider myself handy. How can I get this document? If you read this, slamfix, post a message on how to get your document. Many thanks!

Faded band down the page about three quarters of the width, only dark on the right hand side. New toner doesn't help, shaking toner cartridge makes no difference. Spoke to a Samsung sales rep last week - he suggested installing new firmware/drivers - that doesn't help either.

It sounds like the developer blade in the black toner needs to be cleaned. It is located in the imaging unit. You can either open up the imaging unit and clean it yourself if you are handy. I have a document that describes how to do this otherwise you need to buy a new imaging unit.

If your printer looks like this:

Then you need to clean the developer blades. In the image above it is the black blade that need to be cleaned. If there are streaking on any other color, then then also needs to be cleaned.

To clean the developer blades, look to this link. http://losingambition.com/clp300imagefix... It describes how to clean them. It only takes a few minutes to do once you get the developers out of the unit. Just be careful when you clean the edge of the blades. You need to make sure that the residue is completely removed from the edge. Also be sure that when you reinstall the blade that the little foam does not get trapped below the blade.Otherwise when you print the side where the blade is not properly installed will have too much color.

If you are afraid of messing your printer up, then you need to buy a new imaging unit. They go around $100.

1) Open up the Printing Preferences for your printer within "Printers & Faxes" or tray icon.
2) Go to the Graphics tab.
3) Click the Advanced Options button.
4) Tick "Darken Text"

OK, everything else.

I contacted Samsung and they arranged a technician to come out to my home. the technician said a clip when you insert the cartridge had broken, if it does not click loud when being inserted this is the problem. Test the click, by removing the other colours, then try the black cartridge. Its a very different sound. This problem is not one you can fix, its hardware problem with the printer that needs to be corrected by samsung. My cartridges that were from Hong Kong on ebay worked fine after that, so nothing to do with cartridges.

I have had this problem twice both with brand new toner. I removed each cartridge and shook it up then replaced. the toner seems to fall to one side for some reason. This has worked both times for me.

I suggest that you do what I did. My clp 300 was doing the same thing even before using up the initial toner sets--under 1000 copies on the machine. I replaced toners with original samsung toners (the expensive ones) and it did not help the black at all. After reading about many others having the same problem, I finally just took it to the tip. That's right, I chucked the peice of junk.

Faint grey printing

According to the service manual for problems with light print image, the cause can be the Developers or High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS). Other possible causes are given as: Developer roller is stained when the toner or developer cartridge is almost consumed. Ambient temperature is below 10 degrees Centigrade. Bad contacts with the HVPS or abnormal output from the HVPS. To replace the Developers you would need to purchase a replacement Imaging Kit CLP-R300A. Any problems in the HVPS would require a factory repair.

In spite of changing the black toner cartridge and toner waste receptacle, the printing remains faint

If your printer prints with faint vertical stripes like this
slamfix_22.jpg The problem is with the developer in the imaging unit. The problem can be fixed by either replacing the imaging unit for $100+ or you can fix it yourself by cleaning the imaging unit. You will need simple hand tools and if you are careful restore the print quality of your printer. I have a link to instructions that should help you http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300 Hope this helps you.

Black print is very faint

If the print is faint, streaky in a vertical fashion up and down the page, the problem lies with the developer blades in the imaging unit. To fix this, you will need to clean the blades or buy a new imaging unit. The imaging unit cost $100+ and the problem will be fixed until the blades get dirty again. Or you can learn how to clean the blades yourself. I have an instruction post and it can be found by clicking on the following link http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300
Hope this helps.

Hi. My Samsung CLP 300 Laser is playing up. It

The problem you are experiencing is a common problem with this printer. What happens is over time as the printer is used, toner or developer builds up a film on the developer blades. The developer blades meter the amount of toner that the printer puts on the paper to make the image. As the film builds up, less and less toner makes it to the page causing the image to become faint. The black developer blade probally is clogged.
This can be fixed two ways. The easiest and most expensive is to buy a new imaging unit for about $100+. The second is to disassemble your imaging unit and clean the developer blade(s). This can be done in about 30 minutes. I have posted instructions in my Tips section.

Printing in black is not the same shade through out the paper

This is a very common problem with the Samsung CLP 300 and CLX 3160 printers. What happens is that the toner or developer blades become coated with toner. The developer blades meter the amount of toner that the printer uses to make the image on the paper. When the blade become blocked, the image become faint. To fix this problem, you and either replace the imaging unit for about $100 or you can clean the blades yourself. I have posted instructions how to clean them on my Tips section.

Smasung clp 300 will not print in blk

Hi,

check if your toner cartridge(s) is moving the toner supply spiral,
you can see it in hole where toner leaving bottle. (you must push the
valve in cylindrical output of cartridge inside about 20mm).
When you rotate anti-clockwise gear of cartridge, the spiral inside must rotate too.
My original toner has this broken and print was light.

You can have also bad developer unit, blade, or contacts, or printer electronic board.
