That means that there is a problem either with the vent , or the heating element, or the thermostat, rarely this can also be caused by a defective control.
Ususally this is a heating/thermostat, or a ventilation problem.

How how long should it take to dry a load

Your problem is going to be 1 of 2 things either the dryer is not tumbling o you're not getting adequate air flo out of the drye which basically suffocates the drye which basically suffocates the dryer element preventing it from drying, you can check this by turning the dryer on and finding out where the vent is outside and verify airflow is good. My guess would be the second is the problem

The heater appears to be heating when drying but it takes 2 to 3 times to get a load dry? Thank you for the help. Scott Model 68712894

if your dryer feels hot inside and the drum tumbles then you have a blocked vent. check that the venting blows to the outside. do this test. unhook the vent behind the dryer, dry a load of clothing and if it dry on the first time then you know the house vent is clogged. cleaned or if you live in an appartment have maintenance clean.

Dum turns to fast for cloths to tumble, 2 hrs. to dry!!

don't know about the drum turning to fast, but the two hours to dry I do know. Disconnect the vent tube and dry a load of clothes, as there is a restriction in your vent tube. You will need to clean the tube out with a vacuum or leaf blower, you may want to clean the inside of the dryer out, also. Good Luck Tim

We have a Kenmore 80 gas dryer that tumbles, has hot air, but takes 2 hrs to dry. Vent line is clear, but lint filter is getting lint on back side of filter as well as normal amount on correct side. The...

Have you cleaned out the lint build-up from inside of the dryer yet? When you disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer, look inside the dryer. It probably have years of lint build up covering everything and needs cleaned out. You also will need to clean out the filter reservoir (with the filter removed) if you can get to it with a vacuum attachment. Be sure to unplug the cord and close the gas valve while you are working on it. Also be sure your vent flap outside is not stuck and allows hot air to open it when in use. Lastly, when you push the dryer back into place, make sure you don't squish the vent tubing if it is an expandable plastic or foil vent, which will restrict air flow and cause drying clothes to take longer. Hope this helps. Douglas

Kenmore dryer 90 series, heats a little, but doesn't get hot and takes 3 to 4 1/2 hrs to dry a med. size load.

Check vent path from lint filter all the way to the exhaust vent to make sure it is clear. If the dryer has a wet/dry sensor it could be malfunctioning. Try a manual cycle to see if the problem occurs then.

Zanussi tumble dryer does not get very hot

Hi, I take it from the description taht you have given your T/dryer is a condenser? If this is the case you could be looking at several problems? 1 it could be the large filter underneath the tumble dryer this could be blocked with fluff causing it not to condense quick enough! 2 it could be the water collection pump? Can you her it running? 3 It could be that half the heater has failed causing it not to get hot enough to dry?
Try these hopefully it should steer you in the right direction!
