CanonFlatScanner model D646U ex-TWAIN Driver cannot be instaled

Whenever I am trying to install the Software CD (supplied with my Canon Flat Scanner D646U ex), it gives the massage : TWAIN Driver is not istalled which is needed for scanning pictures. All the other components of the software are being installed by means of the Installation CD. Please solve the problem.
