Tension problems on Janome New Home Super Automatic

Apologies for posting this on wrong product - could not find a page specific to the above machine. My wife and i live in Turkey. This is the first time she has used the machine for about 2 years. She is having problems with threading and incorrect tension - any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Her is the manufactures website. Maybe you can find a manual from them?

Need an operator manual for a New Home Sewing machine Model SL-2022

You can purchase a manual for the SL-2022 from Sew USA: http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/New_Home_Manuals/New_Home_2022_Instruction_Manual.htm or from Sew4Less: http://www.sew4less.com/product/561/New_Home_SL2022_Instruction_Manual . Since Janome no longer has the manual for this machine, you can't download it from their retired machine's manual page.

I hope this helps.

If you read a little over halfway down the web page below, you will find another Janome with the same problem. Perhaps it will help:

The tension on my Janome My Excel w18 has a loose thread on the bottom of my sewing What is wrong and which tension needs adjusting

Loose on bottom is usually caused by too loose tension on top thread, check top tension and thread is in the tension device.

Please how can i get instruction manuals for my Newhome sewing machine, bcos am having problem with thread and is locking at the bottom.

you could try www.about.sewing.com for threading diagram and general info on sewing machines.

or for your manual try www.sewingonline.co.uk, www.sewingmanualsonline.com or www.sewingstyle.com, www.manualsonline.com or on ebay.com there are some vendors who sell pdf's of manuals.

I think New Home was bought out by Janome so you might find under one or the other brand name.

Thread issues on the bottom are usually caused by the top tension being wrong so check that the thread is actually between the tension discs and under tension.

Good luck with your machine.

Top seam normal but bottom one appears just straight and loose.

If the top thread looks normal and the bottom thread "loops", it means that the top thread does not have tension. Take out all the thread and re-thread the path, giving special attention to the path of the thread through the tension disks.
Thread the machine with the sewing foot up, it opens up the tension disks, and make sure you lower the foot before sewing.
This will close the tension disks.

Cannot get a straight stitch

Please check the top tension as well and rethread. I had this problem and after doing the above, everything worked perfectly. Thanks.

Help, Janome Ezy Lock 304D Overlocker!

Although the tension units on your machine are of a different configuration, always thread from the right spool first and then each one to the left.........ONLY in that sequence !

d5f0050.jpg
now take a look at this sewusa site for a better view of the actual routine through the thread guides.........as I say, the tension units are different, but the sequence is the same, just use the image from above to see which one is next........this chart, just as the one on the fold down cover of your machine need to be followed one thread at a time from R to L

If you want any more help with this, just post back here, or, drop a line through the "Contact Us" page at www.bargainbox.com.au
