We own a M3027X all in one printer and can no longer access the scan option due to a pin number. However, the personnel in my shop have somehow placed installed a pin and now no one can unlock it. Any tips on how to uninstall the pin code so that we can resume scanning?

Re: Pin code incorrect
I think you should read your manual about resetting to factory default. It should reset all pins and password that you have.
Bot the downside is that it also reset all your customized setting to the printer, ex: paper setting, resolution setting, etc. That means you have to do all customization from the time you first bought that printer :)

I would like to solve your problem but you have to be more specific. What code? Error code ? pin access number ' (ACCESS code clear or overun)? Feel confortable to repply. Anyway,if it is the administrative password, im afraid you have to go around entering by service mode way and then clear the code. If so, i cannot post here the solution, Publicly, by ovious reasons but i will provide the answer in some other way!
You don't need a scanner code (pin ?) to scan. Here are the steps from Lexmark Support:
Make sure the printer is configured to scan over a network.
Load an original document face down on the scanner glass.
From the control panel, press or repeatedly until Scan is highlighted.
Press or repeatedly until the computer you want to scan to is highlighted.
If you set a PIN during network setup and are being prompted for it:
Enter the PIN using and to select a digit location and using and to select a value for that digit.
Wait until the printer has finished downloading the scan applications list.
Make your selections using the control panel buttons.
Press the green Start button ().
Hello, Unless you have setup a PIN for scanning when you installed the printer the default PIN is 0000. If you setup a pin and don't remember, go to the Lexmark Productivity Studio, click on setup and diagnose printer, then on left side select Advanced, another screen will pop up click on Networking and another screen will appaer at the bottom there is a link that reads Change your PC name and PIN for network scanning, click there and you should be able to see and/or change the PIN. Good Luck and don't forget to rate this answer.
This drove me mad for about 2 hours (I've just experienced the same problem), but have finally found the solution!
Firstly, it depends on what Lexmark you have (as different printers use different software)...
For my Lexmark which is an S600, I went into the program 'Lexmark home' which was in the lexmark folder on the start menu and in my lexmark software folder, went to 'settings' and then 'Network computer name'. From here you can set the pin.
According to people experiencing this problem with other Lexmarks, you can do this via the equivalent 'productivity suite' program through 'network settings'.
I have recently purchased the above printer and it did not come with any user documentation (installation via dowload from lexmark site). I therefore do not have a pin code to use the scanning devise. Is it a factory pin for all
Go to the Lexmark Imaging icon (located on the taskbar) and look to the left and down the bottom. You will see Network Settings, click on the "view or change network settings." When you get in, uncheck the "I WISH TO REQUIRE A PIN TO SCAN TO MY COMPUTER" and then press OK. This will remove the pin setting from your scanner. Lexmark technical support just did that for me, now my printer does not ask for a pin number.
