Question about D-Link DI 514 Wireless Router (DI-514)
My mother's laptop will not connect properly to the internet. She brought it to my place and connected to my wireless with no problems, yet although the icon tells her it's fully connected she can not get on to the net at her own home.
(My father set up the router using their desktop pc, before she got the laptop.)
I don't remember the exact wording she told me, but when she diagnoses the problem it tells her "This computer is set to connect to default with security enabled; however, this is an unsecured network."
She believes my father entered an administrator's password (that he no longer remembers) when he set up the router...
Funny thing is, I visited them and tried my laptop - and got it going with no problems. There was no prompting to enter a password.
So where's the problem likely to be? In the desktop pc or the laptop?
I'm sure there's an easy solution to this problem...but what is it?
Help would be appreciated...
How bout setting ur mom's laptop to remove all wireless connection history and then try to make new connection to the router at her home. It also recommended to see from the router
administrative tool is your mom's laptop detected? no kind of blocklist applied in the router? Hope it helps :)
