2006 ford focus displays transmission malfunction with amber light intermittently, fluid has been topped up any ideas?

This is NOT a Tyre pressure sensor warning!
Don't know why people post this when they haven't got the foggiest idea.
It is a fault associated with the drivetrain which includes from the injectors on the engine to the transmission and possibly just a sensor malfunction.
There are multiple errors possible with this fault.
Requires a diagnostic OBD2 port analysis of the ECU to clear the fault codes and further analysis.

If the trans is full of fluid, it means there has been a sensor or other component fail and you should have the body computer checked for codes.

Hi Deborah, What light is coming on? If your vehicle has a clutch it is not automatic and I don't know of any manual gearbox fitted with a warning light. Please describe the light which is coming on. better still take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan and have the technician identify the fault(s) Regards John

check make sure park brake is not on slightly, otherwise if ok check brake fluid, and top up as required, if low have brakes checked

a flashing mil (malfunction indicate lamp) means the computer has detected a misfire. whether random or specific, you'll have to get the code read. autozone, aamoco do it for free

that is your brake pad low warning light,you need to replace front pads asap...

gearbox speed sensor needs replacing, watch for it snapping and dropping into gearbox an expensive fix otherwise best to let leave it to a mechanic not expensive
