Most likely somthing is wrong...
1)bad powersupply
2)internaly broken power cord
3)broken plug within laptop.

--try another battery from a friend
or
--try another power supply at a computer repair shop.
usually shops (smaller ones)have both of these on-hand for troubleshooting!

good luck!

Lcd monitor model w1707

Same as you would for an HP w1907 monitor,

http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/Countries/_MultiCountry/disassembly_monito_200931323546.pdf

If that doesn't work as a direct link, (It's a PDF file. May take up to 30 seconds before first page comes up), then use this page from HP Support,

http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/disassemblymonitors.html?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001#.UXhHK0r3HFx
Scroll down to one of the w1907's.
Do not take that metal box shield off, of the motherboard. There is a capacitor, or capacitors, that are holding a charge. Charge is BAD to FATAL.
(Charge is held for weeks, months, many times over a year; after unit has been unplugged from power)

(You did see on the plastic Back Cover, where it states -> Electrocution hazard, and No user serviceable parts, right?)

My HP power supply is not working,I suspect that the internal thing has gone loose. I am not able to charge my laptop. Please help

Here's something you can do:
Take it to a Walmart where they sell Kingston Ultra Compact Notebook Power Adapters. Ask before you buy it if you can pay for it, then plug it in in the store. If your computer does not start (make sure you use the right adapter for your brand laptop; see chart on back of box), then get a refund before leaving the store. (Paying with a credit card makes all this painless and risk free.)

(Get a sticker on your laptop as you walk in the door to clarify that you brought it in with you.)

Pasario 6500 laptop will not charge, charger is plugged in, turned on and laptop is running on mains power but it will not charge the battery

Most likely your battery stopped recharging. Depending on what type it is, and how old it is, it could be dead by now and needs replacing.
Most laptops can operate connected to their power supplies, even when the battery is taken out.
Some batteries need to be fully discharged for them to take a new charge and perform as new, up to a 1,000 times, according to their manufacturer's specs. Others have what's called a "memory effect". This prevents them from taking a full charge, especially when connected to the laptop almost 100% of the time, and using up some of their charge only ocassionally, when they are disconnected from their power supplies.
You can get replacement ones on eBay for less than the manufacturer's advertised price.
Good luck!

I have an emachines mx4624 laptop that wont turn on. The power cord has tested good but won't turn on or charge the battery. Can it work with a dead battery and a good power cord?

Hi there, Sounds like your Power Jack is Broke... Take a small screw driver and lightly check to see if theres any play in the jack. if you are getting play don't panic its a cheap easy fix but my require some desoldering/soldering to install new jack. if you do find this is the problem i can give you step by step directions on opening up your laptop and installing a new one and where to buy one. good luck

I have hp pavilion dv9000 and it was working for a few months and then once it wouldnt switch on. the power light flashes which indicates it needs charging but when i put the adapter in it says it is...

Don't quote me on this, but seems like it may be an issue with the battery. I would take it to a computer repair shop, or at least a RadioShack, and see if they will try the new battery (with laptop plugged in) before purchase.

There is a power on password in my laptop hp cant get it to boot

It is a BIOS password. If you do not remeber it the only solution is to remove the round battery from the mother board and reinsert it. Turn on the laptop. It will directly take you to the BIOS scree. Restore the default bios setting. Save and exit and your laptop will turn on

Laptop battery wot charge to 100%

Please help us help you.....

1. Brand of laptop
2. Model of laptop

Alot of laptop batteries decrease in charge value throughout use. If your laptop is an HP it has a battery restore program with the orginal software sent with your HP laptop. It takes an overnight commitment to let the program run but it usally restores the life of the laptop battery. Another solution would to be buy a new one off ebay.
