Problem with djx700 possible overheating

I have a djx700 mixer which when switched on works perfectly for about 5 minutes before there is a loud pop and then all channels are full of noise (sounds a lot like a grounding issue). i'm guessing that there is some vital component (not sure what) that is overheating and causing the noise. I would be very greatful if anyone has experienced a similar problem and might know what is causing the problem becasue then i'm guessing that it would be possible to replace the component. cheers

i have a djx700 mixer which when switched on works perfectly for about 20 seconds before there is a loud pop and then all channels are full of noise (sounds a lot like a grounding issue). Ive have read the suggestion to look at the capacitors and check for a bulge in the end of them but there is no sign is there any other way of checking the capacitor is working correctly? cheers

I have the exact same issue as the mixer works for about 10 minutes then I get this high pitched squelch noise.

I gave up and bought an Allen Heath mixer but want to keep the Berhringer as a back up.

I'll try solution 1 but if anyone has more info please help.!!

Sounds like an electrolytic capacitor that has faulty electrolyte. Look for the culprit in the power supply area. It looks like a can covered in usually light or dark blue plastic. It's end may have developed a 'bulge.' This usually occurs with capacitors around 10 years of age or heavily used over a long duration, or under very hot conditions.

You may also want to make sure all solder joints in the power supply are good.

Behringer djx700 has no bass

Check that all the eqs are set not to cut bass, check there are no effects on and that the XPQ is off. If you still have the problem how sure are you there is no bass coming from the mixer? Have you tried it with another amp? We had one hire customer who had the same problem you describe and his amp had a crossover and it was set to act as a mid/top amp and wasn't giving him any bass, unsurprisingly, switching it back to full range sorted it.

Had a djx700 mixer for a couple of years now, brilliant mixer when it works fully!! the latest problem is that after 30 mins + the sound drops from 1 channel also the area underneath the power supply is...

Open the unit and search for a hot chip with your finger on the failing side.

One of the chips or circuitry is likely drawing too much current. I have seen traces on a circuit board start to short out and cause this due to spillage of liquid in a mixer.

You could use circuit cooler to cool suspect chips to see if it restores. This would be a quick way to isolate bad chip.

My behringer djx700 does not work properly 2 use the effects u have 2 plug an rca into the booth output on the back but then nothin else works and i can only here my left turntable in my head phones there...

Semiconductor things involved with sending the booth signals into the mains are:

IC2 which is a 5241 gate controlled by MIC_ON.

IC30 4580 summer for MIC and BOOTH.

IC53 4580 inversion and gain control.

IC39 4580 MAIN output drivers.

I'm having electrical serges going through my Behringer DJX700 Por Mixer. After turning it on and off 10 - 25 times, it seems to go away until I go to use it the next time. Can you please advise on how to...

I can't be sure what you mean with "serges". I think that you mean that you "hear" spikes generating in the switch. In that case unplug the mixer and use a Contact Cleaner spray (you can ask for it at any Radioshack or other like this shop) in order to clean the inner contacts of the switch. So spay in the gap between the power switch (at the back panel) and the plate around the switch and turn the switch on and off for some times in order for the spray to clean the contacts of the switch. Leave the device some minutes to calm and the sprayed area to evaporated and check the results. If the problem remains, you have to change the switch because the contacts are in a very bad situation.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

I need a wiring diagram for the main circuit board in a behringer djx700 mixer

Behringer only gives schematics to their authorized service people.

I find I can usually trace stuff out as needed as the mixers are a very symetrical repeating circuitry.

Most components are readily available from other sources.

Faulty effects behringer djx700

The effects on the PMP powered mixers flash UNTIL you push in on the selector knob. This way you can dial in the next effect number and then push in later to activate when you want it... Could yours possibly be the same technique?

How do I use my laptop like turntables, PLEASE HELP

A trip to your local Radio Shack should solve your problem with the purchase of a mini phone jack to double RCA type (red and white) leads cable.

Jack into the audio out of your Macbook and into the input of your choice on the mixer with the RCA jacks and you are good to go.

Effects button not working!!!!

Most likely the fuse for the effects circuit has blown, which happens sometimes on mixers with built in effects.

You'll have to open the mixer as the fuse will be inside the mixer on a circuit board (look around inside where the effects part of the mixer is) replace it with an identically rated working fuse and you should be done.
