Its a diagnostic code, not sure of the exact meaning though. your best bet would be to try a volvo owners club or try volvo themselves. sorry cant help you any more.

This means you have a bad transmission control module, engine control module, or dataline...The code specifically means there was a communication problem between the two modules
The ETM (electronic throttle module) has been known to cause the "Reduced Engine Performance" code on volvos. However, there are many sensors which could have triggered this problem. If your check engine light is on, have it scanned for free at an autozone for any engine codes which may point to the culprit.
first code means random/multiple misfire cylinder (s) detected
second code means misfire detected number 1 cylinder, third code, miss=fire number 3 cylinder fourth code misfire number 4 cylinder
causes can be spark plugs, HT leads, ignition coils, injector, wiring fault, low compression/ engine mechanical fault
Fuel Codes
Locate the diagnostic unit behind left strut tower and remove its
cover.(see image) Connect selector cable to socket #2,which tests
the fuel codes. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position(engine
not running). Enter the diagnostic mode by pressing the push button
on the diagnostic unit for at least 1 second, but not more than
3 seconds. The red LED light will start to flash,count the number
of flashes in 3 flash intervals. The flashes will be seperated by
3 second intervals.Make note of all codes. If no codes are stored,the
LED will flash 1-1-1,which means the fuel system is operating correctly.

Ignition Codes
To access the ignition codes,follow the above procedure,but with
the selector cable connected to the #6 socket on the diagnostic
unit. NOTE:Turbocharged models may have seperate codes for the
turbo system and are accessse by hooking the selector cable to the
#5 socket.
code p2404 is from a none volvo tester it would convert over to volvo code ecm 432a ,leak diag. pump failure,now dont play with it driving should be ok but you should take it to the dealer or a volvo only shop and read codes and fix it when your ready
