Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Screen appears as if looking through a "scope."

We moved our television from one home to another and now the picture is not filling up the entire screen, as before. It appears as if you are looking through a "scope' all corners are rounded and squeezed.

How to adjust the screen size

On my remote control for the TV, I look for the # key and press it as many times as necessary to get the correct size picture that is needed to fill the entire screen. Sometimes for some shows, you cannot get the picture to fill the entire screen and then there is nothing you can do to get the picture any larger.

Picture does not fill the screen

Check the main output voltage (B+) from its SMPS regulator side. If this voltage is lesser than normal, picture won't fill the entire screen. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525. In general the picture is great from all sources (cable, component, and hdmi). However, there occasionally are very thin, horizontal lines that flicker across the screen....

I have seen this problem before. It is usually caused by a malfunctioning color wheel. Replacing it should resolve the problem. Let me know if you wish to fix it yourself so that I can find you a replacement.

JVC HD52FA97 PC input won't fill screen.

Check your manual to see what it says about picture aspect for PC input.  My Panasonic looks the same way that you describe and the manual says it is supposed to look that way for PC input.

Can't read stuff at bottom of screen

it is possible the picture format is set to stretched. look for a button on the remote that can do this. it could also be the signal. try looking at a different channel that has lettering along the top and bottom and determine if the entire picture looks like it needs to be moved up. if after all this you can still determine that the picture is misaligned post the model number and i can help you move it up.

Aspect ratio problems on Samsung LN-S2651D Flat Panel TV

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.
