If it sound like the motor is running and you get no agitate or spin but it drains, and the couple is new, then you have a bad transmission. If the washer makes a hum like the motor is jamb, then look inside the pump. If the washer make's no sound at al after fill then the lid switch in normally the problem, but secondary problems could be faulty timer or motor.
Possible that the motor is faulty or is stuck and makes the noise. it will be good to remove and check the motor after disconnecting the power cord. Also it is possible that the CAPACITOR is faulty and so the motor HUMS. Please check this out.
Please check if the belt or the drive is struck and so the motor is jammed.
The humming sound is coming from the drive motor running but unable to drive the agitator nor the basket to spin. The drive motor is definitely running as the drain function works because of the fact that drain pump is directly coupled with the rear spline of the motor. The drain pump works in either direction as long as the motor runs. The problem is obviously a broken motor coupler which transfers the mechanical energy of the motor to the transmission. The solution then is to replace the broken coupler. Click on the link below for the detailed step-by-step procedure in replacing the motor coupler.
sounds like the drive belt has slipped off. Does it try to go through a full cycle? Can you manually rotate the agitator or is it seized. Is the electric motor running, or does it just hum? empty the drum, unplug it and open up the back. Look for a belt that is hanging. Good luck Spencer
Maybe worn pump. easy to find out. disconect from motor and put into agitation cycle , no noise > bad pump. still noisy then maybe transmission> buy a rebuilt from a Dasa distributor call toll free 1-866-327-2634 to find one near you.
Sounds like the whirling noise is the pump, pumping. Does it drain at all? Check the drive belt and make sure that it is not broken. This system uses a drive belt with a clutch system to agitate back and forth. The clutch system could be bad as well.
This might not be a cheap fix, these are the main components of the system
make sure your pump is not clogged or jammed..that will stop the motor,,quick test,,pull pump off and start unit in wash,,or spin if unit is empty..onthejob
you may find that the motor is not going because of faulty capacitor or faulty timer
remove the motor from machine and try running with no loadif it works them maybe the pump is jammed or worse still gearbox is faulty
