There are many settings 1.distance (This is the distance between you and the speakers) if your sitting say 6 ft away then you set it to 6 and so on (all front speakers should be lined up the same distance from you) The rear speakers are set up the same way (distance from where you are sitting) then 2. small and large (always pick large for best sounf)3.Tone (this is more a matter of choice) play around a bit with it! the sub should be at least one foot from the wall for best sound! I keep my center chanek a little lower then the other channels for best sound !

How to connect bose 901 to yamaha htr -6090

Sorry, it doesnt look like you can hook up an external EQ while still using the amplifier section of the yamaha. Instead, You would have to use the preamp out to go to 901 EQ, out of the EQ into another stereo amplifier, then to the 901 speakers. Personally, to power the 901's properly, I'd use another external amplifier. You will barley get 35 watts per channel out of the receiver to power the 901's

By fuse OK you do mean the one inside it? If so check the power switch, then check the power transformer.

4 ohm speakers on Yamaha HTR 5540

Model number of the Lux? The only unknown to me regarding the answer is if the Lux speakers are designed for non-Lux attachment. If there are molded connectors on their leads I would be cautious as that is usually the manufacturer's subltlke clue that you really don't want toi mix them with other makers. If they're bare wire I think you're ok.

The impedance selector on the receiver supports minimum 4-ohm front and 6-ohm center and rear, so you'd be marginal on those last two, but barring excessive high volumes I'd think it would work. The powered sub is supported and its impedance spec is irrelevant.

Just curious, is this an upgrade in electronics? From what?

Cannot get all speakers to work at once!!

It could be that every sound has its recording style, some record the sound to just left or right only(mono left or mono right) some has stereo, recorded on left and right. Some have induced additional sound that only surround sound is best at.

Or some base on signal strength, some cut or boost only to the level it is set to appear.

Buzzing on certain speakers (but not all)

do you have the problem in stereo mode (no suround) Try to disconnect rear speakers and see if you still have the buzzing if you do then disconnect center and check, using only the mains, process of elimination, check your polarity + - on speakers and check the wire.I would double check ALL connections even RCAs
