Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T10 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Pictures are dark

I have purchased a used sony steady shot dsc-t10 digital camera, when I take 3 or 4 of the same pictures 2 out of the 3 are beautiful, while 2 are dark and one may be bright white. What do you think is wrong. I have changed the settings many times, to no avail. Appreciate any help I can get.

I have the EXACT same problem as magmady123 with my T10. I've owned this camera for just over 2 years and have taken excellent care of it (it has never been dropped). Several months ago, I noticed that many of the pictures taken indoors or at night were coming out dark. The problem has progressed to the point that the majority of the pictures I take indoors or in poor lighting come out dark. Occasionally, they will come out ok or too bright. I have observed that the flash timing seems to be off and inconsistent (sometimes it is flashing more or less than previous attempts at the same picture). I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thank you in advance!!

Connecting Sony Cyber shot DSC-T10 to computer and using it as webcam with USB

The webcam and the Sony Cyber-shot are two completely different designs. The webcam takes live moving pictures without limitation, the Cyber-shot can not deal with that kind of use it has limited capability which prevents it from being used in that kind of fashion.

My Sony Steady Shot DSC-H5 says "recording" when I am taking regular pictures. Uses up the memory stick quite quickly, although it lets me take about 30 pictures...!!! Doesn't actually record,...

There are some multi burst programs etc which show RECORDING, but actually store pictures. You can always do a reset you know (initialize from the camera SETUP menu) - that should help.

Vibrating and humming Sony Cybershot T10 Camera

My camera also suffers the same problem, luckily mine was under a 3 year warrenty that I had bought so I took it back to the store today and they are sending it to the Sony centre to be repaired. However, am doing some searching on the internet, it appears the problems lies with a failure with the lens. The only solution as far as I am can see is to get the lens repaired/replaced. Fingers crossed it gets sorted out, although it takes 2-6 weeks to come back to me so I'm missing out using it at important family occasions over the next couple of weeks.

Distorted/damaged pictures

Please check the image size (pixels x pixels) setting or the resolution (MP). Seems like the camera is shooting in low resolution. Have you used this memory card on a mobile phone or another camera? Format the memory card and try again.

Having placed your jewellery on a plain blue background:
1 - Switch on.
2 - Set top dial to "Shooting with automatic settings" (green camera icon)
3 - Press "Close-up shooting" (tulip icon on left of lower dial.
4 - Check "Flash" is on (lightning icon on right of lower dial).
5 - Stand over your display. Be as steady as possible and shoot!

When using flash, my sony cyber-shot dsc-t10 takes forever to take pictures!

Have you tried Hi-Speed memory cards, as writing speed of the card affects the response time of camera, I am using Sony MSX-M2GN 2GB and it's gives me quite good response.

Other thing you might try is format the memory card using camera, camera has card format functionality and it does also improve the performance of the camera.
