Hello, the last time my computer froze, I was forced to restart it manually. Now it will display the starting up bar but will not display the log in page. The screen stays black but the mouse arrow is visible and able to move freely. The computer sounds like it is fine, and the lights are normal. Any suggestions?

I think it has failed.
Go to Control Panel...System... Device Manager... and locate CD or DVD Roms and UNINSTALL it. Then Reboot and it will automatically locate the CD / DVD Rom. You will have to acknowledge several screens wit naext and tes ect.
If it does not work, it's really easy to buy and replace.

BETTER THEN RESTORING U CAN RESTORE UR SYSTEM TO A PERIOD WHEN UR THINKPAD WAS RUNNING SUCCESSFULLY AND THIS DOESNT DELETE ANY DATA ON UR HARD DISK

Turn your unit off.
then turn it back on.
Watch the display carefully, Press the Blue Access IBM button when you see the message
"To interrupt normal start up, press the blue Access IBM button"
Then double click on "Recover to factory contents"
Follow the instructions on the screen.
When the Recovery process finishes, press enter.
Your computer will start with the pre-installed OS, Drivers and software.
