Scrambled Signal on LE 1938

When I turn on my emachines W5233 with its LE 1938 monitor the monitor shows a multi-colored scramble. It settles down after a few minutes. Is the monitor or the video card about to go out? I tried emachines and they were of no help since I am out of warranty.

To check monitor you may disconnect from the cpu and put on. If u see "no signal" or any other sign monitor is ok

Remove dust (if there) and clean contacts of your video card and also the MEMORY module. also carefully clean the contact pins on your monitor cable.

Hope u will be free of trouble.

Borrow another monitor from a friend and try that one. If it does the same thing with the second monitor then it is more likely the sound card.

Abrupt loss of signal to monitor.

May be your Video card. Try a different monitor to see if it is working. If not you may need a new video card.

Monitor gets scrambled and computer will not respond

bad video card memory. try to change the video card. if it's built-in to the motherboard then it's a shared memory, disable it in the bios and put in a new video card. check if PCI, AGP or PCIexpress type of card. if problem persists, check also the memory card. hope this helps.

When I want to watch something whether it be Cable, a movie, or video games the screen only stays clear for 4 seconds then it scrambles. Not only that, jumps from being scrambled to going to "no...

you have to go into the settings of the video card and change the "signal" from the one you are using now, this could be RGB, S-Video, Composite, Digital or Analogue, flick through these settings until you find the correct signal

kind regards
