Just apply a little force, and by a little I mean a lot. You might feel like you are breaking it.

How do I insert CD in computer? It doesn"t seem to have an open slot.

If there is no "Open" button for the drive then normally they are opened by pushing on the DVD/CD tray itself momentarily. It only needs a short positive push and the drive tray should slide out.

Compaq cq71 320sa disc drive drivers

Go into my computer to make sure it is there, if okay check device manager that it is listed and enabled, if everything checks! open front bay, if it won't open on it's own get a pin and insert it in the small hole in the front of the tray until you hear a click, pop open and pull all the way out. Buy a can of compressed air and give it a good clean out, might work.

Disc draw wont open

On the front of the CD tray you will see a small pin hole, take a pin or fine screwdriver and insert it until you hear click, the loading bay should pop open and pull out. Take a can of compressed air and blow inside to remove any dirt that may linger.

MY id58 GATEWAY DVD PLAYER, i cant insert a disc because blocked by the mechanism eventhough there is no disc inside.

There is a small hole on the front of the drive. Use a paperclip or a safety pin in the hole to push open the disc try enough to pull it open the rest of the way with your hand. Insert the disc, press the button on the drive to close the bay. If the tray doesn't close gently push the tray back in. If no lights blink on the front of the drive, the drive may be unplugged or has gone bad.

In any open bay. Remove back of computer make sure unplugged. Find an open bay in front of box that is the size of your dvd. Pop front cover off. Slide dvd in tray and secure with screws on each side of the sled. Plug in ribbon cable in back of dvd then into motherboard. Reboot and drivers will install automatically or insert cd with software if asked to.

My xbox 360 tray wont stay close how do i fix it

Do you mean the CD tray won't stay closed? If so check the simple things first. The button that you push to open and close the tray is actually a lever that pushes a much smaller button below it. Make sure that your eject button is not stuck down for some reason. Check your cd tray and the bay to make sure nothing got inside that is preventing the cd tray from closing all the way. I believe if something gets in the way the tray will automatically re-open. You can also take some compressed air and blow out the cd tray to remove any debris that may be blocking the tray from closing.
If none of the above simple steps work I believe it boils down to 2 things. 1. An object inside the case or tray that is preventing it from closing all the way or... 2. The eject button is stuck down.
If your comfortable with it you can take apart your xbox case and remove your CD/DVD player and ensure the button works properly. You can do a search on this site or youtube for instructions on how to take the case apart if needed. Once the case is apart the CD/DVD player is easily removed. You will then notice that the switch you press on the outside of the Xbox to open and close the CD/DVD tray is actually a lever that presses a much smaller switch directly on the front of the CD/DVD unit. You can then test your eject switch directly by pressing the button directly with a ball point pen or a pin. If the bay does not open and close properly at this point it may be necessary to replace the CD/DVD player and I do not know if it can be replaced or not. Hope this helps.

CD tray and reader problem

To manually open a disc drive you will need to look for a small hole on the front of the bay. Straighten a paperclip and carefully put it in the hole. Keep pushing until it releases the carriage and you can remove the disc.

DVD stuck

Replace the drivebay of the Bose AV3-2-1 If the drive sticks, or does not open, or If you receive an error of NO DISK, or any indicator that the disk is not properly recognized clean the lens and if still doesn?t work then the DVD drive is bad. You can actually use one for a desktop PC with a few part swappings. Check that the drive is a Toshiba SD-M1612 it is printed at the bottom of the drive bay. To use this SD-M1612 as a replacement you will simply have to swap three external parts. Remove the 3 parts from the bad Bose drive bay: Remove the 4 bottom bolts, lift cover, if the DVD bay door is locked then insert a paperclip into small hole in the front. Slide DVD tray out and remove the PC style DVD ROM tray facing. 2 clips hold it on pry them out and slide the facing up and off. Now remove the face of the drive bay. It has several clips. Save these three components (top cover, face, and tray facing) to add to the new Toshiba SD-M1612 DVD bay. Remove the old and installation is the reversed procedure above. also remove the small clear LED bezel from the new drive before adding the face. It works fantastic.
