Question about Hotpoint RB757 Electric Kitchen Range

Starting the self-clean option

I have a GE Glasstop self cleaning convection oven. I have lost my owner's manual, and I cannot remember how to start my self clean cyle. I know the door must be locked, the knob turned on clean cycle, but is there anything else I am forgetting?

Lost manual for Frigidaire gallery gas oven. need to know how to use convection baking

What model Frigidaire oven do you have? Most Frigidaire manuals are available from the manufacturer's site: http://b2b.frigidaire.com/support/manuals.asp or http://www.frigidaire.com/Owner-Center/Product-Support-Manuals/ . Note: these manuals are in the PDF format; you will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to read them.

For example the User's manual for the FGGF3054MW range (with convection oven) is available at http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Springfield/316901218en.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Hi...I want to know if i can leave the 3 racks inside for cleaning at the same time as the oven is cleaning

It depends on the rack type. Do not leave the metal racks inside the oven during a self-clean cycle. They can be warped at the temperature of the cleaning cycle. If your oven has the porcelain-coated shelves, they can stay in the oven.

Clean large spills by hand with a non-abrasive cleanser before starting the self-clean cycle.

The manual for the JGBP90MEHBC and the JGBP90MEBBC is available from GE: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-85131.PDF .

The manual for the older JGBP90MEA is available here: http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/Dispatcher?REQUEST=ShowPDF&FileName=49-80036.PDF .

I hope this helps.

How long does self cleaning take?

Self clean mode can vary between makes and models of kitchen ranges, but it usually averages 2 to 4 hours. Once the self clean mode has been started it cannot be stopped until it completes the cycle and cools down. The oven door will lock and will not unlock until the internal oven temperature cools as the oven will super heat to about 700 or 800 degrees. Some manufacturers will enable the consumer to vary the self clean cycle time. Refer to your owner's manual under the Operating Instructions for specifics.

If you no longer have an owner's manual, you may be able to obtain one on line at managemylife.com. Just type in your model number under the "Manuals" link and see if it is listed. They have an extensive list of owner's and installation manuals available in a .pdf (Adobe) format that you can download or print for FREE.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have lost the manual to my GE range Model JBP35CK..how do I use self clean?

If I remember correctly, for your model you latch the oven door, press "clean" and then "start". Did you know you can download a use and care manual from GE? go to http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/
