Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network; I was going over your post and see where youwant the Hitachiremote to work the DISH receiver and your DVD. The best thing to use is theDISH Network remote to use all the functions of the receiver; I will send thislink http://www.hitachi.com and theinstructions of programming the Hitachiremote.
If I understand you correctly, once you installed your new TV, your DISH remote doesn't allow you to change satellite channels. If this is correct, you will need to readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided a link with these instructions. Included with the link is instructions for programming the remote to your TV.
Without knowing the exact issue I can only provide general information. Since it seems like it may be a satellite address problem, I can definitely help with readdressing the remote.
To program remote to Receiver: 1. Access System Information from main receiver. 2. Note the number on the bottom by Primary Remote Address/Secondary Remote Address. 3. Hold SAT until all lights turn on on top of the remote. 4. Enter a number between 1-15 and press #. 5. Press record 3 times after it finishes blinking and the number by remote address should change.
To control a Dish Network PVR/Satellite, it needs to be set to respond to the default Remote Address (1).
To reset your Dish Network PVR/Satellite to the default Remote Address:
1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays on the nearby TV and shows the Remote Address. 2. Using the original Dish Network remote, press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release SAT. 3. Using the NUMBER PAD, press the 1 button 4. Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times. 5. Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is 1. 6. Press the SELECT button on the front panel to close the System Information screen. 7. Your Harmony remote should now control your Dish Network PVR/Satellite box
NOTE: Dish Network PVR/Satellite receivers sometimes have two tuners, allowing them to be used in more than one room on different TVs. Harmony remotes can only control a Dish Network receiver's main tuner while still in the same room with direct line of sight to the device.
erify the remote is a DISH Network remote. Look for the DISH Network logo on the bottom of the remote and Mode buttons or lights at the top. Why?
We do have the codes for all DISH Network remotes and would be happy to help you with your DISH Network manufactured remote. Please contact the manufacturer of your remote for further assistance. Detailed instructions may be included in the owners' manual that came with your equipment. If not, there may be a toll-free technical support number listed.
Press and hold the correct Mode button (about six seconds) until all mode button backlights come on, then release. Use the number buttons to enter the three digit number (four digit for AUX mode) corresponding to the equipment. The light will blink off after each digit is entered and then return to a steady light. Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times. To verify the code works, press the mode button. Then have the customer try several different functions for that equipment. Some codes may provide partial function, or respond differently than the button's titled function. Try the other codes listed for that device until you find one that offers more complete functionality. Place the remote code in the customer's account notes. If the remote still does not operate the device, perform the Power Scan. If still no operation, it may not be compatible with that piece of equipment. Put the remote back in satellite mode by pressing and releasing the SAT mode button
