I have the same problem, but after it displays E it shows 79.9kg and then won't display anything.

I have the same problem. This is the first I've had to buy new batteries and I bought Energizer, a name brand good battery. Can't figure what this would be. I have contacted Taylor, but haven't heard anything as of yet.

New batteries as well. It reads 38.8 LBS or -----. Once and a while I can get it to peg out at mar scale. That is when it turns on.

What I am thinking is that when the batteries died that scale lost its calibration data. The internal reference it uses for 0LBS and 350Lbs. (What ever the scales range is).....

Well, I took the scale apart. Those jerks de-soldered the calibration button. There is no way to re-calibrate it or even set a zero refinance.

All, you can do is demand a new scale or use it as a frisbee.

Basically, the frisbee comment is on the mark. I called Taylor. a nice person walked me through a calibration exercise: take batteries out; stand on scale for 7 sec.; get off; put batteries back in (assuming they are still good); step on scale and if it reads ---- step off again, then back on to weigh yourself. My scale's display was blank, not -----, so they said calibration was unsuccessful & so I mailed it back to the NM address on the bottom. It just fits w/ padding diagonally in a USPS flat rate box. Waiting to see if they replace it (lifetime warranty).

Me too!! I bought this scale for my husband for Xmas, no he was not offended, and was very embarrassed when he turned it on, stepped on it, and saw that he weighed 110lbs. He was thrilled, however. I immediately assumed it was way out of calibration because I had left it in the trunk of my car for a solid week in the ice cold Wisconsin winter, negative 10 to 20 below (F) overnight. I ended up on this website and saw the above directions on how to calibrate the scale. I followed the directions feeling foolish and not expecting any change whatsoever. To my surprise, it WORKED!!!! Calibrating it fixed everything and the scale works PERFECTLY!!!! Thank you SO MUCH for your helpful advice!!!

Turn it over - take out battery and check with multimeter to ensure it is still workable - let sit for 10 to 15 seconds - replace battery - set it on level surface and step on and back off. Step on it again and it should now work.

My scale just went blamk and wont show numbers even after re callibrating it.

Hello. when the scale goes blank it is time to change the batteries. Turn the scale over and you will see the battery compartment. Take the batteries to Radio Shack or Walmart and get the same in the new ones. Then be sure to install them correctly regarding the polarity [ the + and the -]
please rate my answer as very helpful. thank you.

Taylor 7532S, battery replaced, error message 0-Ld

Try to reset the unit. Use the following steps
- Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale. Push the tab on the door and lift the cover.
- Remove the battery from the compartment. Close the battery compartment door.
- Sit the scale right side up on a hard surface floor.
- Step on the scale and stand still on it for five to ten seconds. Step off the scale.
- Turn the scale over and open the battery compartment. Re-insert the battery. Close the battery compartment cover.
- Place the scale right side up on the hard surface floor.
- Press one foot on the scale until the display shows zeroes or dashes. Remove your foot.
- Wait for the scale to shut off by itself. When you step back onto the scale, it will be reset.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Err 1 message on Taylor Lithium Elec Scale model 7346

This is a reply I received from Taylor customer support. I have followed this procedure enough times to wear out the original battery and still get the Err 1 message. You may have better luck.

Thank you for your e-mail. The reboot below may clear the error from
your scale. You may need to do this several times to completely reboot
the system. Please let us know if you have any questions or continue to
display the Error.

1. Remove the battery from the scale
2. Set the scale on the floor without the battery in place.
3. Stand on the scale for 10 seconds (still without the battery)
4. Carefully replace the battery without turning the scale on.
5. Using only one foot, tap the scale or apply just enough pressure to
turn on the display. (It should show dashes or zero's) IMMEDIATELY
REMOVE YOUR FOOT.
6. Let the scale turn off
7. Step on the scale for a weight reading
