Try plugging an external monitor to your laptop and see how it displays on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old fat crt's as long as it has a vga cable that will connect to your laptops vga port.
If the display does not immediately show up, then you will have to hit the FN (Function key)+(F1 thru F12) to show the image. Press and Hold the FN key then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key. The correct F1 thru F12 key will have either CRT/LCD written on it or it will have a display icon on it.
If the image displays correctly on your external monitor, then you will need to replace your lcd screen.
if the line apeares to be part of the displayed image on the screen and typically would be only either horizontal or vertical then the screen has a deffect and it should be covered under warranty if still active. but examine carefully because sometime the internal of an LCD screen get cracked normally because of something that pushed againest it from the outside or againest the cover and if that what happend it would not be covered under warranty. best of luck
It might be the problem of the LCD display wiring. Not any problems of the drivers. If your notebook is still in the warranty period, call the customer care and they should fix it.
Or else print screen, copy it to paint. If there is no white lines in the image, then sure its LCD problem. Replace the wiring with experts in case you're out of warranty period. Take care not to repair it by yourself as it could do more damage to your screen.
Sounds like your screen has developed a problem. You wouldn't necessarily see any damage when you opened the bezel up. I would suggest you take it to a repair shop and have them test it and replace the screen if necessary
To isolate the issue further connect the notebook to an external monitor and check the display on it. If the display is perfect on external monitor then the issue is with the LCD screen of the notebook.
If you have got the same lineds on the external monitor then the issue is with the video card of the notebook.
have you checked the cable between the base and monitor for a fault ie broken cable, lose conector as it sounds like a signal problem, common fault for alot of laptops with the screen being open and closed allot all my best ric
Horizontal lines on bottom third of my Toshiba (Satellite Pro) Laptop with XP windows got fixed by flicking my finger on the laptop screen! Was it a loose connection? I don't know. Change of screen resolution did not help, Rebooting, did not help nor restoring to prior dates. Thank you guys.
