Webcam not working

Hello, I had just bought my laptop for days. My built-in webcam will not work and cannot connect. I used Yahoo Messenger, anyway my laptop is vista, we can talk but the webcam is not working. First, it say's connecting then it say reconnecting then it will say there is an error in connecting. The webcam of whom I'm chatting with works with other computer's, but mine, we cannot connect with each other. Please help me on this.

My webcam has gone upside down but its built in one so how to fix it ?

Hello,

This can be resolved either through the software you are using (ie. Yahoo Messenger) or through the webcam's driver software. Here is an example with Yahoo:

Click Messenger and select My Webcam Click File, then Preferences and choose Webcam. Click on Camera Settings, then look for something that says "Mirror Vertical" or "Invert". That's what you want to change.

Using new Satallite P200-1EE, webcam is not connected message with Yahoo Messenger

I'm using a Toshiba satellite notebook A200, which I faced the same problem like you saying my built- in webcam cannot operate after I clicked on the drop down list from the windows live messenger to have a webcam conversation. Another program is running the webcam at startup. That program is called Camera Assistant Software which is the conflicting software. Therefore I closed this software and I'm able to use my webcam again in my webcam conversation in windows live messenger. I hope this information will help you.Good Luck!

Did you install the necessary drivers for the webcam. If not, use the CD that came with the laptop to install the drivers and then try to use it with Yahoo, etc..
