You might be using the wrong batteries. Usually batteries shouldn't get hot unless you are charging it.

I AM UNABLE TO CONNECT THE SMART PHONE TO THE NIKON AW120. IT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO GO THERE IN THE CAMERA

I do NOT have this camera. The Camera has to be in WIFI mode. (This mode uses more power) If you have done that you have to have a APP (Nikon WMU) on your Phone. If you do NOT connect rather quickly to the Camera it may shut OFF WIFI Again the WIFI really uses more power so if you do not connect it will turn it off. This may drive you nuts. Please make sure the batteries in the camera are fully charged and make sure for a test they are near each other.

My Fuji finepix 2800z uses batteries up in seconds. Works fine otherwise and is ok with DC. Shame as it is such a good camera. Any ideas why and if it can be fixed? Thanks

Wow, these cameras work the best with rechargeable type batteries the Alkaline batteries will just die before you get 50 pictures. If you are using the LCD screen all the time it's a power hungry hog and will kill the best of batteries quickly.

You should program the camera to auto shut off in 2 minutes, review time should be about 1 minute and the camera should be in sleep mode or turned off between pictures to conserve as much power as possible.

I use a Fuji S100fs camera a lot for a walk about, documentary, time laps and generally shooting and can get about an hour of continues use from one battery and about 190 frames.

I placed new batteries into the camera, however after one or two uses when I turn the camera back on, the camera says the batteries are exhausted and powers off.

Digital cameras use batteries p very quickly. Some batteries last longer than others. I buy large multi packs at the big box store near me. When you say two uses, do you mean just two pictures or two uses taking several pictures? You can go to your cameras menu and navigate through it to adjust several of the settings which will save power. You should also be sure that your battery setting is correct while you are there.

Look through your manual to read about the menu settings and battery usage.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Uses batteries very quickly and then shuts down until change to new batteries

Try this before you throw away the camera.

Digital cameras suffer if the battery terminals are dirty. Using a Q-tip and 99% pure alcohol, clean the battery terminals in the camera and on the batteries BEFORE you put them back in.
If you get good results, let me know.
Also, batteries specifically for digital cameras, like Duracell Ultra and Eveready e2 are WORTH the money.
Regular batteries 20 shots, special batts, 144 shots with flash and counting...

The camera wont swich on and dont know how.

Hi,

Here is a quick start manual.

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2590636111.pdf

It uses 2 R6 (AA) batteries.

You insert two batteries in the base, turn the dial on the top to the [camera] icon then switch on using the [power] button.

Hope this helps.

Hi, my olympus digital camera FE-310 (1,6 years old) often indicates immediately 'battery empty' even with fresh batteries. I tried out different kinds of batteries, but the problem seems to get worse...

Make sure you have the right kind of batteries. These kinds of cameras can use the batteries very fast if they are not the correct kind recommended by the user manual. Read the user manual.
If the camera works correctly, and takes pictures and movies okay, and still uses batteries quickly, then more than likely, the batteries must be the wrong kind. Never use the cheapest kind of double-A in these cameras.
If you use rechargeable batteries, make sure they are charged fully before using the camera.

Try this: Turn the camera on, make sure that the menu setting for the kind of batteries you have installed is set correctly. If you set the wrong kind of batteries, the problems you are having is a common thing.
Also turn the camera on, then set all the menus to the default settings. Then make sure that the kind of batteries you are using is set in the menu as (if alkaline set it so... If rechargeable, set so ... other options may exist in menus).

My kodak easy share M380 digital camera froze as I was turning it

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning. Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it doesn't work for you, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/repair/troubleshooting/troubleshooting.jhtml?pq-path=6198

It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

Won't turn on, and heats up quickly when battery is put in.

You need to contact the repairs dept and tell them whats going on. DO NOT LET THEM TRANSFER YOU TO TECH SUPPORT! THey like to do that. Tell them you want someone from there in the corporate office to contact you.
