Previous employee left with all passwords, and cannot contact to recover them. Need to modify network (alter static IP address and subnet mask), but cannot see any way into that setting, other than (I assume) via the "administrator", for which we dont know password (tried 00000000, 12345678, etc, etc..).
Is there a maintenance mode through which we can re-set the admin password (and I assume wipe out email address book).. but anyhting is better than nothing.
Got in with random trialling passwords for the Administrator... finally found the default password for Administrator on the Sharp MX2300N was "admin". Should have known...
Got in, set up the IP's and away we go again. Did not have to go in with any maintenance mode or re-setting the whole system.
There is a simulation mode which will reset the admin password if this has been changed, Make sure you are on the copy screen and then select # * C + = hash star the RED C button and then Star. This must be done in a fluent motion and not hesitant finger movement. You should see a big list of simulation numbers. Plese dont mess with any of these if you dont know what you are doing. OK now type in number 24 then press the copy button (as to make a copy) then hit 31 this should say service password initialisation. click on execute and yes then press CA button. and it should either restart or go back to the copy screen. the password is reset !! enjoy.

Yes, the default admin on MOST MX model Sharp machines is admin
On the old Sharp models the username is admin and the password is Sharp from the webpage, and the key operator code at the copier's touch screen is 00000.
