Question about DISH Network ViP622 DVR DTV Receiver / 180-Hours Video Recorder
First let me apologize for the treatment you received by Dish. It certainly is not our typical response to a customer issue and we are trying hard to weed out the employees that we have to project that type of image to our customers.
Dish has a lot of problems with their inventory of Vip 622's of late. You definitely need another receiver but I would recommend an upgrade to the 722 as these have less than a 3% failure rate. I am assuming this is a new problem and did not exist prior to the need for the first replacement.
The only thing that could possibly cause this issue to continue to occur is if the receiver is in a confined space. There must be at least three inches around the receiver and it can not be in a closed environment without a cooling device such as a fan in the enclosure. Also remember to keep the vent holes on the receiver free of obstructions such as another electronic device sitting atop the receiver.
