Question about Audio Players & Recorders

5 Answers

I have an Emerson model ms3108. The third of three cd disc players does not allow the cd to seat properly. So extreme is the problem that you can hear the cd rubbing, and it goes slowly. It seems to be rubbing at the top of the disc, and there is a noticeable gap at the bottom. This is consistent. The second cd disc player also has the problem, but less severe and does play the cd with a little persuasion. The machine's door also opens very often. My guess was that was due to the improper cd seating. Is there anything I can do about this situation?

You can see two screws at the top of the cd seating case, loosen it and fix the cd case tightly and then tight the screws.i think it is necessary to solve this problem.i have also experienced the same problem in my cd player also.in my cd player the problem was it will not go inside unless we have gentle touch on it,atlast i removed the panel on its front, i mean the naming board which is written the company name etc.the above problem may also occur if you have placed something heavy on the player, which will cause a deformation in its size. try to clean the entire also.if some dust is in contact this will cause the system case to have some damages like this.thank you

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

With the indulgence of the other experts..

Might as well perform a DIY (do-it-yourself). It would be expensive if brought to a service center and no warranty; if an independent electronic shop would work on it, chances are they would be doing the same thing you can do, and that is:

  • open the unit;
  • look for the anything out of alignment, worn gears;
  • the problem is mechanical and you would have to address it by winging it.
  • of course the correct procedure would be to reference a Service Manual.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

BOSE 3 CD PLAYER DISC 3 SHOWS DISC ERROR AND WILL NOT EJECT. TRIED SLIDING OLD DISC UNDER STUCK DISC AS RECOMMENDED WITH NO SUCCESS

hi,
Its because of the disc three is out of its potion in the tray. You have to remove the mechanism to remove the disc from the tray. You have to be very carefull while removing the mechanism because the cd loading mechanism is a very complicated part of cd players . Because when you remove the mechanism to eject the disc, the timing of of the the machanisum can be changed this will lead to malfunction of the loading arms and wheels and will cause serious damages to the mechanism. If you are not aware of how to remove the the try to contact the bose servicing centre.
If you are confident the try to remove the cd manually.
OK

Hi,
It sounds like you haven't followed the last step to the burning procedure. All you need to do once you've completed burning your disc is to Finalize the disc. Read below why you need to finalize as well as the steps to follow in order to finalize the disc.
Hope this helps ;)
How to Finalize Finalizing is writing the TOC (table of contents) on a disc so a CD player can recognize the number of tracks, the total time for each track, and their location on the disc. A recorded disc must be finalized to playback on a standard CD player. Once finalized a CD-R disc can be played on CD players that support CD-R playback. CD-RW discs can only be played on CD players that support CD-RW playback. Consult your CD player owner's manual to confirm supported formats. Finalizing is necessary to: • be able to play a recorded CD-R or CD-RW disc on a CD player • prevent further recording on a disc • avoid erasing tracks on a CD-RW disc • record text information onto a disc you record Notes: • A finalized CD-R disc can never be recorded onto again. • A finalized CD-RW disc can be unfinalized for more recording. • The CDR300 can play back unfinalized CD-R or CD-RW discs. • SYNC REC+FINAL mode automatically finalizes.
Here are the steps in order to Finalize your disk
1 Push Stop. The display shows the number of tracks and their total playing time. 2 Push FINALIZE. FINALIZE is displayed for about 3 seconds.

DVD region codes are a digital-rights management technique designed to allow film distributors to control aspects of a release, including content, release date, and price, according to the region.DVD video discs may be encoded with a region code restricting the area of the world in which they can be played.

The American DVD Copy Control Association in California requires that DVD-player manufacturers incorporate the regional-playback control (RPC) system - according to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, an Australian government agency.[1]

There are six different official regions and two informal variations.[citation needed] DVDs may use one code, a combination of codes (Multi-Region), most codes (Region 0) or every code/no codes (Region All). The commercial DVD player specification requires that a player to be sold in a given place not play discs encoded for a different region; however, region-free DVD players are also commercially available.[2] In addition, many DVD players can be modified to be region-free, allowing playback of all discs.[3]

When I try to play a CD I get an "err" message. Using store-bought CD's, not ones that have been copied. I have the Emerson PD6559BL portable CD player Love this CD player so I hope you...

Extract from your cd player manual:

"This CD player can play normal CDs p/us CD Recordable (CD-R)
and CD Rewriteable (CD-RW) discs. However the playability of CD-RIRW discs
may be affected by the type of software that was used in 'ripping' the tracks from
the original discs and 'burning' the tracks onto the blank media. Playability may
a/so be affected by the quality and condition of the blank media you use for
recording. 100% compatibility cannot be guaranteed, this is nof an indication of
any problems with your player."

So try to burn the disc with another software or buy different CD-r.
You also want to make sure that you Burned the tracks as audio files and not MP3 file, because your player can not read MP3s.

Hope this helps.

I have a kenwood MIDI M-45 /MIDI M-757 audio system. The CD player won't play. The disc loads but error comes up NO DISC, can you help????

The cd unit is not reading the disc, the laser pickup may be dirty, or the pladder motor that cd sits on may be defective. If you can get at the laser pickup lens, clean it with rubbing alcohol with a Q-Tip very carefully in circular motion and allow several minutes to dry.

Sound like laser assy defected in any case you need a Technician from Pioneer or they are trained by Pioneer is very complicated to remove the laser and replace it you need an osilloscope to aligment a new laser and special disc to do that. It might not worth to repair it, the laser itself a bout $110.00 Aus

Im getting a display message on my cd player saying no disc, but there are discs actually in there.it will pick the disc up but it will not play any of my discs.could you please help.

Try using a lens cleaning disc and see if that helps, if not, it will need service by a professional. The most common reason for that error is a bad laser pick up in most cd players. You never gave the model number or who makes your cd player so there is not much more that can be offered.

I always encountered that kind of problem, the audio works but discs player not working. This kind of a problem of a disc player had three causes, first the lense is busted already secondly the MPEG MEMORY IC is busted, thirdly the roller that's moving back and port bringing the lense set stock up full of dirt this is most common problem. That why whateveryou did is not functioning. If you know how to open your unit it's better. First you do is to clean the roller with the use of a lighter fluid to take the old greases that already harden with dirt. After that all is clean put a first class greases type-A only little to the roller and wipe the lense with a cotton buds. If all this procedure nothings happens, you better change the lense with desame code number, to avoid conflict. If the lense is change still not functioning that's the time you change the MPEG memory IC.I assure it to you it's works 100%.

PACKARD BELL CD/RADIO/MP3 PLAYER. MODEL PB OP 10

This is not for connecting an MP3 player, but rather for playing MP3-CD's. Using your computer and a CD burner, you can burn a CD with up to about ten hours worth of MP3s on it. The procedure for creating the disc varies depending on your burning software. In Nero, for example, you would select "Music" and then "MP3 Disc" and then select the songs you want to put on the disc. For other software you just select "burn a data disc" and then select the MP3 files you want.

Once you have a CD full of MP3s, put it in the Packard-Bell stereo's CD player, and you will be able to play all the MP3 files that are on the CD. THe advantage, of course, is being able to put ten hours on one CD instead of only 80 minutes.
