You could try a program like EZ-Flash to flash the bios without using a dos disk. Gigabyte should have some type of program on their website that would do the flashing without makeing a disk as most new computers do not have a floppy drive nor does Windows XP/Vista use dos. Hope this helps.

If you have access to another computer you could download the files onto a CD or DVD depending on what you have on your computer. Then try booting up with the CD/DVD in the drive. If this does not help then you can contact Gigayte and see if they could send you a bootable disc, probably a fee involved, but they should be able to send one. If you do have a floppy drive on your computer then take a 3.5 disk and download the bios flash using a 2nd computer. Save the files to the disk and then reboot your computer using that disk. Follow the onscreen directions and it will talk you through flashing bios. Once you have flashed bios remove disk and reboot. Hopefully this will fix your problem.

When i reset by desktop bios is not loaded (i think) black screen and not disk activity. Ga-k8vt800m. this happened after cpu frequency change.

If you can still go into the BIOS screen, disable the change you made and see if the system returns to normal.
If not, and you do not remember the settings, go for the default...

Ground yourself to the chassis to dissipate static electricity, with the system off, remove the bios battery.
This will undo any changes you made.
It will also undo and system changes that make you system unique.
At least it should start working again. You can go from there.

Good luck, and don't forget to vote

GA-8SIML will not post or boot. Removed all PCI

Hi,

Firstly you check your RAM by use another RAM and then check it is working or not, after that if display is not coming then check your processor it is fitted properly or not if it have fitted and display is not coming then *********** board's winbond chip have been damaged.

Repair it from a techinician.

Gigabyte GA-8I915ME Beep codes

Hi David,
Do you have your manual for the motherboard?
If no? You can down load it from Gigabyte.
Click on this link:
http://www.giga-byte.com/Support/Motherboard/Manual_Model.aspx?ProductID=1926
Go to page 76 for the bios beep code description. Your bios is AMI. Click the next link for AMI beep code error descriptions:
http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm
There are two possible troubles. 1) the first bank of memory has a problem. You can download a program that can test your memory without going into windows. Program is free & allows you to create either a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD-ROM disk. Click here: http://www.memtest.org/ Scroll down the site until you see, Memtest86+ V2.11. (V2.10)
If your manual is 100% correct than the error is fatal. AKA not repairable but I would suggest you try the above first before tossing the board.

Best of luck David!
Having trouble, post here.

Won't boot

Under normal circumstances you do not need to boot into a drive to flash your BIOS. Normally you would take a dos boot floppy and the latest BIOS firmware and put them on a floppy, which is then inserted into the floppy drive before turning the computer on, and if the bios boot priority is set to boot from floppy before the harddrive, it will ask to boot from the floppy, which allows you to flash the bios from a command line or text graphical interface.

*Note that you may be able to use a cd, but floppy is the oldschool way - if you could boot into an operating system you could use the modern methods which flash the bios while running an OS.

Your board comes with Q-Flash in the BIOS, which means you are able to log into the bios and flash it using this utility and by putting the BIOS firmware on a floppy and inserting it into the computer.

Please see Here for instructions and Here for the latest firmware.

If you cannot access the BIOS, meaning the BIOS is completely bricked, then you will need to buy a new motherboard. Unfortunately there is no way to fix a BIOS which is completely bricked.

Ga-k8vt800m motherboard specs..

First, remove all power from motherboard, including the Power Supply ATX plug. Then remove ram and all PCI and PCI-E / AGP (Video) cards even network cards... Let it sit for about 5 minutes and then plug in the necessities: RAM, Video Cards and if nothing works repeat the process but alternating ram slots and ram.
