Yes to all three questions, the tire wear will be obvious this will cause the drive spindle not to hit the tire, also the drive spindle if you look at it , it should have a very ruff surface to it that is what drives the tire that can be worn, and lastly the return spring to lower the motor onto the tire does wear out, but this might be a cable problem, see if you can adjust the cable that lowers the motor onto the tire by loosening it at the point where it connects to the motor bracket then see if you can push tyhe motor down onto tire let me know how you make out, write to me at this e mail, email@example.com
