I HAVE PHILIPS LCD 42PFL7662D/12 HOTEL MODE. I NEED TO ACCESS THE MENU.
You have to enter its service menu option to unlock the Hotel mode. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Check this LINK and select the site named above. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu at the left top corner or the display window. It will make search easy. Some times, the ads attached with each posts might help you to find the availability of spare parts. There are more than 550 posts to different brand TVs.

We have the same telly and had the same problem. Ours was bought Jan 08. It can be repaired, as we had ours returned from the philips repair specialist yday, but it cost £190.

The only thing that would cause this is a lock!
If you ever forget your password, key in ‘7’, ‘7’, ‘7’, ‘7’
on the remote control.
If unlocking does not free up the unit menu then the unit has most likely had a software upgrade at some point to disable these functions permanently. This is normal hotel based systems in order to prevent them being used if they are stolen. In this case you will have to contact LG directly with Model no and Serial No details to get them to assist you.
SOURCE: hotel lock, not available but im sure there is another way
Not all sets have a hotel lock.....key in for a google search on the model and get a free download of the user manual.

I come across this every day with LCD Tvs.What it is, is dust between the layers of the LCD. When dust particles settle behind the front layer of the LCD, and the LCD is pressed i.e when cleaned, the layers can be pushed together, resulting in a shadowy streak. If the LCD is stripped and cleaned it will be ok.
