Question about MTX Ford Explorer/Mercury Mountaineer/Mazda Navajo 1991-2001 Thunderform Loaded with 10 Inch Woofer and ... Car Speaker

2001 Mercury Mnteer Shuts Off 4 min after start.

My 2001 Mercury Mountaineer shuts off 3.5 to 4 minutes after initial start up on cold mornings (25-45 deg.). I want to warm the vehicle up but half to go back out within minutes to restart. Starts again without any problems and runs GREAT. Tried Lucas injector cleaner for three fill-ups, no luck. Was advised on replacing coolant temp sensor, I havn't done it yet though. Any ideas??

Why don't you try replacing the coolant temp sensor?

Also, adding a remote start will keep you from having to go outside in the first place. It will also keep someone from driving off with your car when they see those keys hanging there with the engine running.

Check/change the #4 plug. Make sure the gap is right, ceramic not broken, and that the plug wire is on correctly.(both ends) Did you use dielectric gel when you installed the plugs? Good idea to use it.

2004 mercury mountaineer door ajar light

Ends up being a broken wire(ground) in the rubber boot between door and frame. I carefullly removed door panel, pinched the ends of the boot and slid it back into door. And there it was...a broken black wire. Spliced in a new piece of wire, reassembled everything else. Everything works like it should. It's really not that hard just take your time. Also before I started I disconnected the battery as a precaution. Goodluck.
