Question about Dishwashers

My KitchenAid Superba won't run, no lights, nothing

After years of working fine, my KitchenAid Superba won't even light up. I've checked the switches, made sure nothing was blocking the door from locking properly, and checked fuses and breakers.

Any ideas?

I did turn the power off at the breaker, still no luck. Thanks, anyway!

I called Kitchenaid and they shipped my a new display panel and controller board which I replaced. That didn't work and killing the power for an extended period of time didn't work either.

    ???

I have tested the feeds coming in and it seems to be the proper voltage.

I have a kitchenaid superba dishwasher. It stopped working. The lights for the settings come on but when I hit start, nothign happens. It's about 7 yrs old.

Try turning off the breaker to it to reset the controller. Beyond that, check the water intake valve. Usually the first thing to happen is filling with water and it will wait for fill before doing anything... so if valve is stuck, it will appear nothing is happening. Valves get crud in them and fail to open.

Start button not working...can't get machine to start

The micro switch is bad. I had the same problem cleaned the switch a few time (nd bought some time) but in the end I moved a switch from a cycle we did not use to the start position. Cost was nothing but my time (must have skills in soldering PCB assy). Worked fine since, almost a year now. However I have had several unrelated problems and would thing twice before putting any major money into this unit. In the 3 years I;'ve had this unit I've fixed the switch, installed a new pump assy and put in 2 thermal switches (unit appears dead when they go bad). I've done all this myself and the bills would be between $700 nad $1,000 to call service.

Kitchenaid Superba Dishwasher

gagaweaver, couple of things you want to check here. Check the upper spray arm for any clogged holes or cracks along the edges. Position it in the 12:00 position and run the dishwasher for a little, open the door and verify that it has rotated. Make sure the water entering the dishwasher is min. 120 degrees, use a thermometer. Makes sure that there is no large pans or dishes blocking the upper spray arm from spraying onto the inner door. If all that checks out. You will have to remove the lower spray arm, filter cover and chopper cover to make sure the chopper screen is not coated or plugged up. If it is, it will prevent a good flow of water to the upper spray arm. Catriver..post back.
