Error code 7402

Developing unit C noninstalling error
No density detection signal is output from toner sensor C in developing unit C.

Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the connector cable. If none,
replace the cable.

Drum relay PWB (YC1) and engine PWB

Long story short, the printer MUST go in for a service as you will void ANY warranty if you try this yourself, it is an electronic failure.

Error code l 4 01

L4-01 is a main motor lock error. More than likely something is locked up, rather than a problem with the motoer itself. Make sure the drum and Developing unit are turning freely. The Fusing unit binding can also cause this error. Turn the machine off, remove the developing unit and the drum. Put the developing unit back into the machine, close the doors and turn it on. If you can hear the motor run and there is no error code, then the drum is locked up, probably due to a flipped cleaning blade. The next area to check is the developing unit itself. Sometimes if the bushings go bad at the ends of the developer roller, it will cause a motor lock. There is a white coupling on the rear side of the developer unit. Turn it counter clockwise about a half turn, being careful to hold the unit level. There should be little resistance. If all seems O.K., then the Fusing unit is probably the cause. Also pull out the paper cassette and make sure nothing is preventing the pick up rollers from turning.

E000020-02b0

Refers to Magenta Drum/Developing assembly. Toner concentration within developing is low. Also can mean that the Drum Unit has exceeded its life. The code meaning will change to some degree depending on the specific model. On the Older CLC models that have Separate Developing Units the developer unit may need to be re-started. To check drum life. enter Service Mode by pressing on the Keyboard *28*. At next Screen touch "Copier", next Screen select Display. At the Display Screen select "Misc"
The drum life meters will be displayed. If the drum life exceeds 100% that could be the problem.
