OK - here's a little tip that might save you a bundle of cash:

The Frigidaire glasstop slide-in Range model # PLES389ECH has a habit of triggering a F30 error, which according to the NEW table of error codes (http://www.applianceaid.com/faultcodes3.html), implies an issue with either the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) panel (located beneath the Control Panel Assembly), or the temperature probe itself (located within the main oven cavity, back wall, upper-left corner). However, a quick glance at page 12 of the Factory Parts Catalog's wiring diagram (http://www.youserguide.com/wiki/Frigidaire_PLES389ECH or http://www.serviexcell.com.mx/manuales/PLES389ECH.pdf) shows two thermal breakers wired into the circuit as well.

To check the probe, disconnect power and either pull the probe from the cavity of the oven (two screws, and a disconnect plug) and measure resistance across the probe, or take the Control Panel Assembly off the front (remove 4 cooktop control knobs and 4 teflon mounting nuts) and measure resistance at the EOC P5 quick-disconnect plug (violet wires - see wiring diagram)...it should read approx. 1091 Ohms at room temperature per ApplianceAid's table. If you measured at the probe, an open (infinite resistance) or short (zero resistance) indicates a bad probe. Replace for about $40.00 (per http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5160618).

If you get an open or short by measuring at the P5 plug, the issue is either the probe OR the thermal breakers. Also called a Thermal Cutout Switch (item #141 on p.8 of your parts catalog), one of these buggers is located near the electronic control module for the right rear stovetop burner (#54A, follow the violet wires from EOC to locate it) - since you already have the Control Panel Assembly pulled, reach over and push the button on the breaker to reset it. This may have just solved your error code! For FREE!! If it doesn't reset, you may have to replace the breaker itself (around $16.00).

However, if you measured at the plug and get the appropriate resistance for the entire circuit it's likely that your breakers, probe and wiring harness (always check for disconnected wiring) are fine, and that the problem lies with the EOC itself. This pricey gizmo runs a little over $200. My sympathies.

Good luck! Feel free to mail me any contributions should you save yourself a $350+ service call. :)

An F30 error code indicates either an open or shorted probe connection. This sensor is referred to as an RTD (resistance temperature detector) sensor probe. There is a sensor just behind control panel on right side located in the oven sensor wiring harness. Opening or shorting of this sensor will cause an F30 error code. A loose connection or faulty wire harness between the EOC (electronic oven control) and sensor could cause the failure. It could be the sensor is simply unplugged.

I would have a technical repair specialist should perform a repair of this type.

Frigidaire gas stove, oven will not work. Shows F30 code

That is an error with the temperature sensor.
Unplug the unit or turn the circuit breaker off for 60 seconds.
Restore the power to the appliance by plugging it back in or turning the circuit breaker back on. If you still have the problem here is a link to order the replacement part and a video how to replace the part which is fairly easy to do.

Frigidaire stove door locked f30 error code

Hi - Typically error code F30 for Frigidaire range indicates an issue with the sensor probe or the wiring harness between sensor probe and EOC. Try resetting the unit and see if the error code will clear. You can either unplug the unit or flip the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on the range. If issue continues, contact a professional to move forward accurately

I have a professional series frigidaire stove and it keeps showing an error code of F30. What does this mean?

Hi here is the meaning of the F30 error code. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment. Mike

F30
F31
Open probe connection.
Shorted Probe connection.
1. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature & compare to *RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.
2. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace *RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector.

Our figidaire electronic stove/oven model PLES399ECD, serial number NF62311528, mfg'd 2/2006 has an error code for F30 when any program is selected. The manual does not list F30, what is F30?

Open (F30) or shorted (F31) RTD sensor
probe/ wiring problem. Note: EOC may
initially display an "F10", thinking a
runaway condition exists.

1- Press Cancel key.
2- Check wiring in probe circuit for possible short or open
condition. Check RTD resistance at room temperature
(compare to probe resistance chart). If resistance does not
match the chart, replace the RTD sensor probe. Let the oven
cool down and restart the function.
3- If the problem persists replace the relay board.

I have a kenmore elite that has a f30 error can i fix this myself

The F30 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board detects an "open" oven temperature sensor probe circuit.
This is usually caused by a failed oven temperature sensor probe.

Replacing this component will likely fix your problem.

You can order this part from www.searspartsdirect.com website.

If you replace this part yourself, be sure that you unplug the range to disconnect electrical power before accessing this component.

On some models, you can replace the probe by removing the screws that mount this component to the inside back wall of the oven.
Carefully pull the probe inside the oven cavity until you encounter the wire harness disconnect plug.
Unplug the sensor and replace it with the new one. Mount the new probe on the back wall of the oven.

On some models, you have to remove the lower back oven panel to access the sensor probe.

If you replace the probe and still have this problem, you will need to unplug the range and measure the resistance through the violet wires that plug into the control board (this is where the sensor probe circuit is connected to the control board).
If the resistance through the oven temperature sensor probe circuit is normal (about 1100 ohms at room temperature) then the electronic oven control board will need to be replaced.
