MY POWER OUTLET TO THE COMPUTER KEEPS GETTING REALLY HOT AND MELTED AND MY BATTERY IS NOT CHARGING ANYMORE.

test the power outlet then

clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor specifically around your central processing unit making sure there is no moisture in the air line

as dust will cause a lot of static which will make a computer overheat and cause lots of problems then test your computer battery or replace battery

hope this helps

Changeing power supply

On some Compaq models there may be an additional screw into the underside of the power supply, holding it to the metal brace across the case. Look for any additional screws like that, and be sure you've got them all out. Then, if it's still tough to get loose, gently tap it with a small rubber mallet. I used to fix Compaqs for a major retailer, and sometimes the supplies are just tight in the case. The little tap usually frees it. If you still have trouble, please post the model number of your computer and I'll try to help further.

Can i get any circurt diagram for compaq power supply unit..

I found this site for schematics but am interested why you'd spend the time when reasonably priced supplies are readily available from reliable vendors. I've pulled apart a few supplies and have had some luck repairing them but overall it wasn't worth the time. Switching power supplies are not the easiest to trouble shoot. Base wishes.
