Re: Is there anyway to do a remote reset of a dsl modem?
The answer "depends."
If the DSL modem is in bridge mode, then NO.
If you have opened up a WAN management port in the DSL modem, then YES.
If the modem's management port is not open to WAN access, then do what I do.
Remote into the site, past the DSL, then go backwards into the LAN portion of the DSL and reboot it.
But..of course these answers are too easy and not what you are looking for, probably.
The DSL provider can reboot the dsl modem.
But there is no software or command I'm aware of that can reboot or resync a "fritzed out" modem.

On the back of ur modem there is a reset button which might look like a hole you may have to use a pin to press that button
press that button for 3-5 sec and then release it all the light on your modem will flash.
now ur modem must be restore to its factory settings
the modem is already old and obselete try to upgrade the modem. even though the lights on your modem works. try to call ATT because they can run a line test so they can determine if the connection is good or not
You have to connect to the computer to the modem directly. Turn off the firewall program. There should be a reset button located on the back of the modem. Push and hold the button for thirty seconds. After the thirty second the modem should reboot. After the modem reboot, loard any browser and the verizon online should take on it own.
Basically if your Internet service is DSL or cable it's just a plug and play. Just plug the computer to the modem once the Internet access has been activated by your ISP and your computer should automatically get connection from the modem.
It seems like you have a very big problem. If you are successfully connnected to the wireless router, you can check the the ip address of the router by doing an ipconfig in command prompt, check the default gateway and try to access using IE browser. The next problem is accessing the router when you are prompted to enter the username and password, the default is username: admin password: admin, depending on the model, if it is customized, you will have to reset the router to access it and configure the mac filtering or enable wireless security to deny the person who is taking up your bandwidth. You dont have to access the Paradyne modem to configure everything, if you want to find out if it is running DHCP, you can connect a PC wired(straight UTP cable) with all the network settings at default and check if you can get an ip using ipconfig with the command prompt. The main thing here is to reset your wireless routers to factory defaults(use the button at the back) to re-organize your connection and setup a security for unwanted users.
Inform me if there are other questions or clarifications you need regarding the problem.
check if your computer is getting a valid address from your modem. if so, try to ping the modem's address and check if you'll have replies. if it'll reply, try to disable any antivirus software and firewall installed on the computer or try to use another browser. if not, check i the computer is properly connected to the modem, try to use another port or another known working cable. also try to use another computer for isolation.
hope this'll help you with your concern.
