EMC offers a great documentation site.
Here is it:
http://www.emc.com/microsites/clariion-support/ax150/install.esp?redirect=true

You can select Install and you can create a great customizes doc for installation steps.

Generally you can configure AX150 from a web based interface.
Enter the ip addess of the storage processor and a java application will appears.
You should do the following:
1. Create raid groups
2. Create LUNs on raid group
3. Register the hosts
4. Add hosts and LUNs to a storage groups

How can I come back to the initial configuration of a Fas250?

Connect to the FAS250 console by using the provided serial cable.

Logon to the appliance using username 'root' and the root password.

Type the following exactly as shown:
priv set diag
halt -c factory

The filer will reboot and ask for a fresh setup the next time it boots.

This should only be done if you are sure you really want to reset the configuration! This should probably only be done if you know how to then proceed and re-configure the filer.

If you do not have the 'root' password try resetting it. You will have to reboot the filer and type "ctrl-c" when prompted to access the special maintenance boot menu. Then choose the option for resetting the root password.

What is a WEP Key?

Wireless networks broadcast messages using a radio and are thus more susceptible to eavesdropping than wired networks. Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is the first in a line of increasingly secure algorithms that include WPA and WPA2 used to secure IEEE 802.11 wireless networks.

Setting WEP up is usually done from the wireless security tab of your router configuration, this is most often accessed from your computer using the web address http: 92.168.1.1 by default. It consists of a pass-phrase and a key. the pass-phrase is used to generate an encryption key, this is then necessary to use any packets (Bits of data) transferred over the air.

Newer routers allow this configuration to be done through a visual application as well.

Switching from 'Mirrored' to 'Striping'?

I don't understand your description. sorry. But if you are switching over from Mirror to stripping then you will surely loose your files. Switching raid configuration will also redo the hard drive relativity and will reformat the drives automatically. If your backup is a server then you need to go to system bios and configure the raid from there. I suggest backup the backups first before you do it. If your backup is an external hard drive then go to its http settings and configure it there. It will surely format your drive.

Different RAID configuration?

Hi,

The first point to note is that this unit does not support more than 1.6TB total disk. (4 x 400GB drives) This is stated in the manual which is on the CD that came with the unit. You cannot configure a mix of RAID1 and Linear (JBOD) drives, so you plan will not work.
