It's located just behind the power button near the front of the unit, on the right side (if you are facing it)

Your link does not actually link to printers.. only to HP PC's but seems to be a mis-label by HP... no surprise there.

My printer is the HP Officejet Pro L7580. Had the same problem with cartridge expiration date. Tried setting date backwards, but did not work. Learned that removing the battery should work. Only problem, where is the battery? Its position varies depending on the model. For mine, it is on the right side.

1) Remove the power and USB cable from the back.

2) Remove the two torx T-20 screws from the right plastic panel that surrounds the power and USB jacks.

3) Open the printer top to the second level (below the glass) and remove the one torx screw.

4) Slide the right side panel off to expose the green circuit board.

5) The battery is on the medial (toward the middle) side of the circuit board, so the circuit board has to be removed from the frame. Remove the 6 torx screws.

6) Gently pry (you may need a small screwdriver for some edges) the circuit board out. Be careful not to overly stretch any of the electrical wiring when handling the circuit board.

7) Flip the circuit board over to expose the battery, in my case, a CR2032. Pry the battery out with your fingers.

8) Fashion an insulator to fit between the terminals. I cut a disk out of an old bicycle inner tube. A disk cut from an old plastic credit card should work; just don't include the magnetic stripe! Insert insulating disk.

9) Put everything back together and test.

I never heard of that for the C7180 all-in-one. Remove the ink cartridges. Dampen a rag with water. Slide the cartridges across the rag until you see ink. If yes, than good. Grab a couple of cotton swabs & drip a couple drops of alcohol onto a tip. Wipe the copper contacts off on the ink cartridges. Do the same to the contacts within the ink carriages. Replace the ink into the carriage.
From your computer, open Printer and Faxes. Make sure your HP C7180 all-in-one printer has a check mark next to it. If not, left click the C7180 once so its high-lighted. Than click "File" in the upper left corner of the window. Left click, "Set as Default printer". Than right click once on the C7180 & slide to & left click on Properties. In the next window click "Printing Preferences", Another window will open. Left click the "Services" tab. Click the "Service this device" button.
Than click, "Clean the Print Cartridges". When the printer finishes, click "Print a Test Page", button. (If you do not see ink on the test page than your ink cartridge are too clogged & you'll have no choice but to replace them).

Using the damp rag loosens possible clogged/dried up ink. Cleaning the contacts with alcohol removes oil from touching the copper contacts with your fingers, also removes dust. Always keep a cover over your printer when not in use. My current ink cartridges are at least 1+ year old. HP & other manufactures do use tracking software to monitor your ink cartridges in this fashion. If you remove an empty cartridge & re-fill it & replace the cartridge the software knows. Each cartridge has a tiny chip attached to it.
The internal software knows when you fill a ink cartridge & can shut down your ability to print. Forcing you to buy new ink cartridges. Below is the HP link for your C7180 printer.

Remove print head?

The instruction to remove the printer head are likely on you tube. Usually they just snap in and out. Once you get it out. Run warm water over it for about 3-4 minutes. Once it's rinsed dry it with a hair dyer. Don't worry about distiller water. Drinking water works great. Snap it back in and try it. Good luck!

HP C7180 has message INK Thresholds Exceeded Do Not ship in its current condition

Sad to say I know how to fix this.
1. Power up the printer
2. set printer's date to the current day.
3. On the keypad press the * and # keys together
Now press one at a time 1,2,3 for the code
"screen stould display a white backround with 2 lines of info"
4. remove all the print cartridges
5. Press the >> arrow button twice until "reset menu" is found
6. Press OK
7. Select Partially full reset Press ok
( the printer will take almost to minutes before it powers down)
8. Power up the printer and follow the steps.
reinstall ink ect......

I don't know why this happens but I sure a lot of printers are in the trash because of this. If you print out a SELF TEST REPORT the
dates on the age of the ink Cartridges are likely out of life range.
Planned obsolescence by HP can be found all over the web. This could be one of those.

Hp psc 1210xi all in one printer says refilled cartridge is defective. HP says printer remembers cartridge serial number, counts number of prints executed & after certain number of prints, won't...

Well, if the electronic circuit on the cartridge has blown, you have no other alternative then to buy a new cartridge. You can remove the cartridge and gently wipe the cartridge contacts. Turn off your printer, wait for a few min, then turn it back on. Put the cartridge back.
If that doesn't work,
  1. Open the cartridge access door.
  2. Remove either cartridge (not both).
  3. Close the cartridge access door.
    • If the computer message is Print Cartridge Error , then the print cartridge that is still in the printer is the problem cartridge.
    • If the computer message is NOT Print Cartridge Error (instead, it says that the cartridge you have removed is ...Either missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed ), then the cartridge you have removed is the problem cartridge.
There is a cmos battery in the printer, and, yes, when you remove it, the printer forgets everything (serial number, number of copies, etc). I have found a clip, but it says it only works for some HP printers. You can try that, but I am not sure that will help solve your problem.

The print heads are actually located on the bottom of the print cartridges. Remove each one and inspect. If you find nothing then check under the print cartridge carrier while the cover is open and the carrier is in the service position.

You can usually print with an empty cartridge, even though the software will inform you that the cartridge is empty. Your print quality may be affected, however.
