Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Xbox does not read any disc

Got online for the first time since having my xbox 360 for almost 2 years and since then my 360 can not read any disc (cd/game/dvd) and the xbox does not even try to register the discs and no sound is made.
Is it a lens cleaning solution or has my lens died?

Try the lens cleaner CD then try to replace it if the cleaning did not work

Disc drive is out, needs replaced, but inorder to replace it you must keep the original drive. You can either order one online and follow these instructions to do it ureself (recommended) or email xbox360repair@palegathon.com for a pricing for repair.

Tip

How to resolve Xbox 360 disc read errors. Xbox will not play disc.

Is your xbox360 having trouble reading disc? In this guide I will provide some common solutions to help you fix your disc read issues.

1)Remove any memory devices or usb flash drives.
2)If the disc you are using is excessively scratched, this can cause the xbox to have trouble reading the disc. You can use a damp soft cloth to try and clean the disc. Grab the disc by the edges and using a soft damp cloth lightly wipe the disc from the center going outward.

3)Try removing your Xbox hard drive and then play a disc. Turn off the console. Locate the hard drive on the top of your system(depending on how you have it positioned). Press the release button on the hard drive.

If your system can read disc without the hard drive attached then you may need to replace the drive.

4)Clear the Xbox360 cache. Clearing the cache may remove updates to certain games. Keep this in mind.
Go to System Settings in the My Xbox menu. Select Memory, highlight your storage device and select Clear System Cache. Try and play the disc.

If after the above steps you are still having trouble. You may want to contact Microsoft Xbox live support to have your system serviced. You can find the support information in the link below,

Xbox 360 will not read discs

Try using different sorts of discs in the xbox, original xbox games, xbox 360 games, dvds, etc, and if nothing reads in the unit, you need to replace the laser assembly. But seeing how the unit is less than a year old, take it back to retailer or send to microsoft. Good Luck.

Won't read disc

sounds like the laser's stuffed. the lasers in those machines are notoriously bad. you'd best be careful. a dodgy laser will cause laser-burn to the discs. i had the same thing on my machine. i could play a couple of games, then there was some that would work after i took them out and put them in, several times. after fixing the laser, ive not had the problem again.

On my psp my games won't work

Almost at the same time the Xbox 360 was released in late 2005, consumers began reporting rounded scratches found on discs used in their Xbox 360 consoles. Almost two years later, in February 2007, the website "The Llamma's Adventures" investigated the matter and concluded that some Xbox 360 drives lack a mechanism to secure the disc solidly in place.

How can i fix my broken halo 3 disc over the computer or and on the xbox 360 can you help please the thing i dont get is that i can play xbox online for halo 3 but i cant play campian at all can you help...

First get some disc cleaner, and clean any scratches. If that doesn't work, the only way fix your disc would be to mod your 360, and to use a program called xbox backup creator, to make a backup of your original copy. If you go this route, get a Samsung SH-D162C, or SH-D162A if you have SATA. This is the only dvd-rom that can be altered to read 360 discs, and you might need it if your 360 drive can't read all of the Halo disc. Note: for the obvious reasons you run a high risk of getting booted from xbox live, I got booted and never once played any of my backups online.
