I have a Philips plasma 50 inch tv, I had the red dot problem a year ago. Went through the extended warranty and Andulusia TV service in Bensalem, to repair the problem. They had it for amonth and told me that they replaced the motherboard, it wasn't fixed. I called them and they came out again and took my TV for 2 weeks. They called and said it was fixed and they are going to deliver my TV back to me. Put the TV on and 2 hours later, BAM ! red dots again. Called the warranty company (Repair Master) and asked them what do I have to do to get it fixed or get it replaced, obviously something is wrong with it. They told me to send it back to Andulusia TV and it will not be replaced until they say it can't be repaired. Andulusia wants me to give them the TV back again. I said, No, you had it two times already in a year and its not fixed. Basically, they told me to go pound sand. I think the system is that they wait you out until the warranty is over, then it's screw you. I'm Hot. This TV was $3,800.00 and $500.00 for the warranty. I need some good adavice. Can you help me out?

The panel is bas. it has a diffusion problem.most extended warranty companies require you to let the shop try 3 times to repair for the same problem. on the 4th time they talk replacement.
best to read the contract.

Most Likely the power supply board has a few capacitors blown.You can repair it by removing back cover power supply board will be at the center of tv.Look for caps that have a round top these are the bad ones replace with same value caps.You will have to take power supply board out.Be careful these power supply boards have alot of voltage store in them.

50 inch LG plasma model 50PX5D. Lost picture and sound


well it looks to me u need a new tv....all the details u give are pointing that ur picture tube is gone.....but call LG help and costumer line and ask them......u may get away from it to get a new tv
make sure when u get a new plasma to extend ur warren tie to a max o 3 to 5 years and if this would happend u get it repaires for free.......cost for a new screen app 1000 to 1500 dollars

My 50 inch plasma


We have a 50 inch magnavox plasma screen. We found and used a fix from fixya! It only costs us $34.00 campared to the $300.00+
anyone wanted to look at it. The problem was on the powerboard but was two little capacitators with the model #3300 10v. We carefully took the back off the tv and removed the power board, went to a local electric supply store and bought the 2 parts for $2 each, we then found someone (tv repair shop!) to sauter the new ones on! Got it home put it back together and it stayed on, no depressing shutdown after a few seconds! you can find a picture of a fried capacitator on yahoo images, they are supposed to be flat but if defective will be bubbled at the top or even split! I am calling Magnavox today to complain that they are not recalling this part that should have been a better quality capacitator! Hope this helps some people!!

it could have over heated you can try to reset it first unplug it for about five minutes and try to turn it on if that dont work the remote might have a set button try holding that down until the red light flashes twice, then turn it on if not then hold the power button down on the set for a good five seconds to see if that resets it. if none of that works you will have to go to panasonic .com for the reset instructions.with the red light blinking the power supply is most likely good you just need to reset i.

Red Dots on My Plasma.


Did you get this problem resoslved? I had the same issue a few months ago. I tech came by and took my TV to the shop, a few days later he said it was fixed as they needed to make some adjustments.....The TV has been fine up until a week or so ago and now the red dots have appeared again. Was wondering what happened to yours.
