Sound breaking up on Chicago channel 38-2, 38-3, 38-4

I have a new LG52LG70 HDTV. I love it. I have just one problem. The sound breaks up channel 38-2, 38-3, 38-4. Channel 38-1 is okay. All other channels work very well. I have tested the antenna feed with other TVs and they all receive the above channel very well. I have a very strong signal for all channels. I live 40 miles from Chicago and have an outside Wiegard HD8200 antenna on a tower. All other TVs in the house receive the channel with any problems. I have tried retuning the channels, but that does not solve the problem. Is there an update for the software on this TV?

SOURCE: My TV Sharp 26 SB1 LCD PBS channel breaks up

Do any other OTA channels break up on this TV? Look through your setup options menu for a TV reset (memory or restore default or a similar command) . Do the reset and exit the menus (save the action on most TVs); then return and rescan the OTA channels.

On a different brand of TV this worked. The channel had broken up for several weeks; the reset was used when the channel finally became totally corrupted (no video on one sub-channel, no audio on the other).

Some tuners need a stronger signal to be stable; you may need an amplifier on your antenna.

I hope one of these ideas helps.

My picture and keep on breaking up on some channel

If you have a good picture on some channels and the picture breaks up on others , it could be the input signal. What is the source of the input signal; i.e. cable, satellite, antenna???? Do you have a cable box? The problem may be with the box or with the provider's signal.

No sound on 2 Digital channels 20.1, or 20.2

I left the set completely turned off (unplugged) all day. When I turned the set on in the evening,
both channels had sound. So other than resetting the circuits the problem seems to have been eliminated for now. If it recurs, I'll contact you folks. This is sort of flaky, just last month I had a similar problem with Channel 26 digital in Chicago but that seems to have been resolved. Since I have 2 other Sony TVs in my house and they are NOT experiencing the same problems.
I'm not so sure my next set will be a Sony. Although I do not tune into WYCC digital in Chicago
all that much, I like to know that my set is working properly and that I'm able to look at any channel
20.1 & 20.2 included, without loosing the audio.

Audio is breaking up, but only on some channels.

It turned out to be a faulty cable. We replaced the cable - problem fixed.

Hi ks0412,

If you are receiving a High-Definition (HDTV) signal through an over-the-air broadcast, you may see this kind of mosaic-like breakup of the picture and sound if the signal is weak or interrupted. This is the same way that you would receive snow and static with an analog signal in the past. I would suggest readjusting your antenna for better reception on the channels that are giving you trouble.

If you are receiving this broken signal from a subscription-based service such as cable or satellite, I would recommend contacting your service provider for assistance. It could be a problem with the signal, your equipment, or the equipment setup.

Thank you,
