How to replace fax paper

My fax machine says check paper. Where is the roll located to check or replace? Is it by chance in with the replacement for ink film cartridge? I have a roll of paper but I am not sure if it came with this machine.

if the paper feeder (the rolling that retract paper) not rolling.
you have to replace it. only a technician can do it.

if its rolling, maybe an object is blocking paper to go through . cleaned it.

Outgoing faxes and copies have black lines down middle of page

This usually happens when the Roll of paper is running out.
If this machine uses sheet paper and not a roll, you may have dirt, a scrap of paper, or something else on the print head.
Check the manual for instruction on cleaning

Error message rx paper tray full but here is no paper the machine at all.

On this machine there is a paper actuator that senses paper. It is located just next to the paper feel roll. Pull out the tray and look above and see if it is moving up and down. It is like a plastic lever. Becareful not to break it.
If ok, take out the drum and toner moduals. Unplug the machine
Pull out the paper trays.
and put the machine on it's backside so the underpart of the machine can be viewed.
Check to see if the lever is moving correct. Check if the plug to the sensor is connected properly.
If all checks ok, suspect that sensor is not working correctly and might need to be replaced.
This does go directly to the main board, it is not often the main board goes out for this problem, but anything can happen in electronics.
Good luck.

Sounds like a phone line issue.
The phone line isn't a digital line is it? ISDN?
That machine MUST have an analogue line

Does not send faxes

Nope, it's just a big telephone answering machine that prints.

Check the phone line with a regular phone.

Listen for a dial-tone.

HP 7680 paper jam

I spent 21/2 hours with the HP tech support - with their recomendation to upgrade my 14 month old computer to the bigger model because the screen reads "paper jam". I have had this printer replaced once already, 1 week after I received it for a defective doc feeder. I decided to take things into my own hands - First of all, no paper was ever located in the paper jam area. Several soft resets by shutting down for 20+ seconds, then pressing #6 at start up resulted in any improvement - the screen continued to read "paper Jam....." the HP tech was unable to offer any practical suggestions.

I turned the machine upside down after removing the document feeder and examined the rollers at the back of the rear tray where the paper jam was supposed to be. I noticed that there was some black residue on the gears and although the machine was off and unplugged - the rollers / gears would not roll freely and seemed to get stuck. I cleaned them thoroughly with an old but clean toothbrush and water. (don't grease the gears - I've heard it eats the plastic) - until the rollers would freely roll when I moved the gray rubber rollers.

Returned the machine to correct position - and turned it on - "paper jam" message returned but the machine was sounding different than it had - so I did another soft reset (unplug from wall and printer for 20 seconds, then holding #6 for a few seconds while plugging back in and now I can print. The printer went through its maintenance cycle and did a realignment. I can print and everything is working fine at this time.

I hope that this will help someone. I couldn't find any information on how to repair the printer and HP seems to be all about producing junk and convincing you to "upgrade" at a cost of $2-300. When this one does finally go - I won't be buying an HP!

The 7680 jams a lot and the document feeder has a lot to be desired. It has trouble feeding straight and if there is a jam anywhere in the machine - it is always difficult removing the paper without tearing it and creating more problems and waste of time.

Replace Drum

your toner has nothing to do with sending/receiving faxes. If you can print to the xerox...something is wrong with the software..
delete and re-install software..Xerox website is useless
check the black sensor that dangles into the paper tray. wiggle it up and down, ahten resintalled the tray
