Grabs two sheets when sending a fax

When I send a fax, it almost always grabs two sheets of paper insted of only one at a time. I have been standing and feeding each sheet one at a time. Also, is there a manual or guide showing how to completely clean the machine? I bought it used and has a lot of dust. Mahalo,

Re: grabs two sheets when sending a fax

Sounds like it just needs to be cleaned. If you can give me the make and model of the fax, I'm sure that I can find the manuals for you.

How to send a fax

Insert the sheet of paper in the fax machine, usually there's a small icon where you place the paper that shows you whether the text should be upward or downward, then compose the number and press the Send button.

Brother mfc-7840w won't receive fax

The first thing that I would try multiple people to ask them to fax you.Sometimes the 2 machines don't "sync".This is a toll free fax test number that I always use to check my machines..1-888-473-2963.Just write the words "FAX TEST" in large letters on a blank sheet of paper..fax it to that number...leave the line should get a fax back in about a minute. If you get a fax back...your machine is fine...let me know if this was helpful....thanks.

How can I send and receive a fax from Lexmark x4270.?

You can send faxes via the operator panel, the All-In-One Center, or the fax driver.
Using the Operator Panel:
  1. Make sure your All-In-One is switched on.
  2. Load up to 30 sheets of your original document face down in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). Note: When you load small paper sizes, place your document in the center of the tray and adjust the paper guides to the edges of the paper.
  3. On the operator panel, press Fax.
Using the keypad you can:
  • Enter the fax number, and then press Black or Color.
  • Press Speed Dial, and then:
- Use the arrow keys to scroll through the list to find the number you want, and then press Black or Color. - Use the keypad to enter a two-digit number (viewable in the upper left of the display), and then press Black or Color.
The All-In-One scans your document and sends your fax to the number you entered.
Using the All-In-One Center:
  1. Make sure your All-In-One is attached to a computer.
  2. Load up to 30 sheets of your original document face down in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). Note: When you load small paper sizes, place your document in the center of the tray and adjust the paper guides to the edges of the paper.
  3. From your desktop, double-click the Lexmark 4200 Series All-In-One Center icon. The All-In-One Main Page appears.
  4. Under Productivity Tools, click Fax an image or document.
  5. Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the task.

When we send fax, the rubber roller on top which grabs the sheet does not have enough pressure to lead the sheet in the machine. So the fax cannot go through and be sent. Do people still provide service...

The paper pickup roller in the Feeder is bad and needs replacement. But still if you want to use it for some time then you can clean the roller with some cleaning liquid like a glass cleaner, even indl. alcohol also. But remember that the liquid should not be applied directly to the roller. Always use a clean cloth for this. And do not take much quantity so it should drip inside. Try to clean well by rotating the roller slowly.

Take care.

Front loading page grab problems.

See that top on which to place paper faxing is a green button should be positioned (to the right or left) in position with several sheets drawn as an indicator. I guess yours is positioned on a single paper which means it does not separate anything you ask.
Good luck to configuration

HP 3330 When I send a multi-sheet fax, it pulls the last few sheets at once. I have to hand feed multi-sheet faxes. Is there sopmething that is worn out? Can I replace it myself? Thanks

It sounds like you need to replace your ADF seperation pad. That's what allows only one piece of paper to pass at a time. The part number for that is C7309-60009, it is recommended that you replace the pick up rollers as well (C7309-60091)If you are looking to do this yourself and save money, shoot me your email address and I can send you a pdf file on how to get everything replaced.

Paper will not feed to through to send a fax

Your feeder grooves have probably worn down - you could buy a maintenance kit to replace just that part of the fax.

No answer when sending fax

The receiving fax machine never answered. Maybe their fax machine is set to MANUAL or is disconnected.

It's not your fax machine that's the problem.

Need to know abt fax has a web page that talks about the different ways you can send a fax from this product:

Faxing Overview

In general, the fax machine in the all-in-one product doesn't need a computer to work. It works just like a stand alone fax machine. You shouldn't have to scan anything in from the scanner in order to fax. Just put the sheet of paper you want to fax into the product's feeder and follow the fax instructions (see the link I posted above).

As long as the product has electric power and is connected to a phone jack, it should work out OK.

As far as legal papers, if you mean legal sized papers, it should work as long as the product supports the paper size you want to use. You can get that on the product specifications web page at HP.

Product Specifications

Once that page opens, go to the Faxing specifications and Paper specifications sections for the relevant details. Good luck.
