My inspiron 1545 types two letters at once

On most laptops there is a function key that will lock the keyboard.

You would need to pres the [Fn] key and the appropriate [F#] key. In mine the combination

would be [Fn+F1] keys. If you shut down to re-activate the keyboard you will loose whatever you are working on.

hope this helps

Hi!
You have enabled NUM LOCK. Press button "fn" and find another button with blue tag "Num Lock". Pres both buttons at once.
Hope it helps

If some of your keys are working and some are not working, then most probably, your keyboard is broken, try to clean it properly and if it doesn't worked out please send it to nearby service center

Keys don't respond.

make sure that theyre connected properly, not making any false contact, that theres no dust under the little keys, make sure if something is burned or fired that is linked to or used the keyboard.

Keyboard functions changed

Sounds much like the shift key (on the right of the keyboard obviously) has got stuck. Or possibly your cat has managed to turn on the marvel that is StickyKeys.

Monitor comes on very dim, I can't see

click your "fn" key and then press the brightness key on the keyboard (it will be a blue or green "sun")
If this does not work, plug an external monitor to the laptop, if the screen is good on the monitor, your LCD display panel is shot.

LAPTOP COMPUTER KB PROBLEM

Your keyboard might be shot, the circuit board that is. Try calling Dell and sending it in for them to fix. Another way is to connect an external keyboard and changing the settings around in control panel with it.
