are you using the laptop on a table or in the bag, did this problem start after a while or from the first day you bought it

There is a definite problem with the internal cooling system -- i assume that when in use, the laptop intake and exhaust vents are unobstructed. There could be a flaw in either the cooling system contact with the processor, the rpm of the fan, or a core voltage problem with the power regulation - or even a faulty processor -- a tech will have to take a closer look.  One last thing . . . sounds silly, but are you using the correct adapter and does the output voltage match the voltage rating posted on the laptop? Does this happen both with battery and AC outlet operation?

Hi, my acer aspire 5315 switches itself off when it gets hot? It has been doing this for a few months now! My cousin also has the same laptop and same problem!! I would be grateful if you could...

this can be possible if your laptop is AMD processor. kindly check the cpu fan if working, system will shutdown once cpu reach the temperature set from the bios. change the fan if not working.

I've had my acer aspire (5315) laptop for over 2 years

Hello,

Sometimes, the CPU heat sink fan might get clogged up or faulty or stop spinning entirely. Make sure that the fan can turn properly.

IF YOU CAN, open the unit when the battery is disconnected and the power is not connected, then reseat the CPU Heat sink and re-apply a eye drop heat sink thermal paste onto the CPU. Reconnect and tighten everything again properly and adhere to the sequence in turning the screws back as per their numbering on the heat-sink

If the FAN has trouble spinning, doesn't turn at all or is noisy and runs irregular please replace the fan. The fan alone should cost about a few US $.

then you'll get the right one, but check the fan first.
because if it spins at all then it will just need cleaned
get a hoover to it or open it up & poke all the sh*@t out of grills then it will be able to breath again lol.

My acer aspire 53115 is just turning itself off randomly...it seems to be getting a little hotter than usual too, but that my just be my imagination. It is a year old, but I had it in the box for 6 months,...

Hi:
It sounds as if you are experiencing a heat related issue. Often the problem can be taken care of by removing the heatsink/fan assembly, cleaning it, and reapplying thermal paste to both the CPU and GPU.
I am guessing that if your laptop is over a year old, even if you only used it 6 months, that it is out of warranty. You have to be a little careful on disassembly, but it should clear up your problem.

My acer aspire 5315 overheats constantly. i do not put it on my bed, i do not put it on my lap, i dont even rest it on the table in case it overheats straight away, i make sure theres plenty of air flow...

Try cleaning the air vents wit ha compressed air can. If no joy check for a BIOS update on with Acer. If all this does not help may be the sensors or the fans are failing and will need replacement.

Crash!!

Could be Heat, sounds like the system is shutting down to protect the processor. Let it sit shut down over night and see if it runs longer when it's cooled down. Is the fan running?

Acer motherboard

I am assuming you mean that it gets Hot ?
If it crashes and is switching off then it may be the fan that is not working. Check that fan is working and give it a clean.
If it is still getting too hot then re paste the CPU Heat Sink (Recomend Arctic Silver 5) if its still getting too hot then your CPU may be on its way to PC Heaven.
