Question about ViewSonic Cine1000 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

There are Bright spots all over the screen (Dust Blobs?)

When projecting dark images i can see what appear to be blurry dots scattered across the screen. They also appear beyond the edge of the projected image. I have cleaned both the bulb and the exterior zoom/focus lense with no positive results. I believe there is some dust inside the machine that is casuing this but am unsre of how to fix the problem.

SOURCE: Image blurry at edges

my dear friend, it appears that you must have opened the 3 lcd screws that are not supposed to be touched, if so then just forget reassembling the same as the convergence would be lost & cannot be manually done
another thing are the polarisers.if excessive dust had accumulated & if you used wrong technique in cleaning then the coating would have come off & you have lost everything , just change the entire lcd block.this costs a bomb.beter to buy a new projector

Double check which menu item you are expecting to find the orientation. It might even be under 'image', 'settings', or its own button not in the menu, Jon.

When we project to the screen, we are getting spots on the screen - mostly noticeable in dark. We blew for dust and still no change

check if the spots are pixel size dots and not dust. if so then the problem is not dust but dead pixel problems

How do I get rid of tiny spots that are appearing on my images?

Dark spots are usually the result of dust or dirt on the lens. If a simple soft bristle brush (1/8" wide paint brush is ideal) can't dislodge the debris, you should purchase a lens cleaning kit available from camera stores. They run about $10. These are great to removing these and other contaminants such as finger prints, smudges, etc. High end lenses have special optical coatings and the special cleaning fluid included won't leave a residue - or damage the coatings.

If the spots are bright or colored, (or dark after cleaning above) the electronic sensor inside the camera has a "hot" or "stuck" pixel. This problem is usually not worth fixing due to cost.

I hope this helps - and good luck!

Dark spots on screen on DLP when screen is white

What size are the spots?
If they are 1 pixel in size you have stuck DLP mirrors.
If they are larger not symmetrical then it's most likely dust blobs in the optics near the focal point (on the DLP chip glass window)

There are spots on the tV that are tiny white dots. It appears that some of the tiny bulbs have burned out and I wondered if it can be fixed. There are about 5 or six scattered across the screen.

This is a failing DMD board and is really not a user replaceable item. Please contact your local TV techncian for correct part number to be ordered and replaced.

Sony a100 distortion dots - Im getting several

If these are single pixels on the LCD screen, they are normal. From pg. 8 of the user's guide:

"The LCD monitor is manufactured using extremely high-precision technology so over 99.99% of the pixels are operational for effective use. However, there may be some tiny black points and/or bright points (white, red, blue or green in color) that constantly appear on the LCD monitor. These points are normal in the manufacturing process and do not affect the images in any way. "

This may also be helpful.

"images may trail across the LCD monitor in a cold location. This is not a malfunction. When turning on the camera in a cold location, the LCD monitor may become temporarily dark. "
